I am an avid cyclist who rides almost every day, averaging 24 miles a day. I have used a heart rate monitor (HRM) for the last 5 years to help me track my beats per minute (BPM) and to make sure my workouts are in the correct effort zone, sometimes easy other times hard. Unfortunately that many hours and the resulting sweat from the hot temperatures in my area causes the HRM straps to wear out. They lose some of their elasticity and the clasps rust so much that the break after about 18 months. I’ve been through a few over the years. In the past I’ve had to purchase a whole new HRM kit since the straps weren’t always available separately. Luckily, I found these so now I can replace just the worn out strap without having to discard the old, but still working, HRM electronic device. This product package included two straps, each boxed separately. The build quality is good, very similar to the straps that come with Coospo HRM kits. I find these style straps to be more comfortable and lightweight than the straps that come with the Garmin HRM kits. Also, these straps do not dig into my skin at the buckle like the Garmin ones do.Regarding size, I measured the strap’s minimum and maximum length, at rest (non-stretched), and I got 75cm and 115cm respectively as claimed for the large size strap. If weight is a concern for you, as it is for some cyclists, these straps came in at 34 grams. Compare that to my Garmin strap which weighs 40 grams.I tested the straps using two different Heart Rate Monitors (HRMs), one at a time, connected to my Garmin Edge 1030 bike computer. The first HRM I used was a Garmin HRM-Dual A03711 and the second a Coospo H808S. The strap fit each HRM perfectly (see photos). After adjusting the strap to fit my chest and snapping the HRM devices in place, my heart rate BPM value immediately displayed on my computer’s screen. I used each HRM for multiple bike rides, the totaling 90 miles at approximately 4.5 hours total duration. Each performed as expected with no dropouts or loss of signal. They were comfortable and did not cause any skin irritation. These straps are a quality made product that performs well with multiple brands of HRM devices. They provide a cost effective way to replace a wearable part in an HRM setup.
