If you purchased the pencil, buy these because they will be needed.

I got these to refill some 1.3mm pencils my 6 year old uses for school. I put a piece of this lead in one pencil and compared it to the "name brand" lead that was originally in another pencil. I felt this lead wasn't quite as "clean" looking--the refill lead had more white space inside the letters I wrote. It also was a little tricky getting this lead loaded inside his pencil (I had to push down carefully on the plastic part of the eraser area with the eraser in to get the lead to go down. That being said, the lead felt durable and wrote fine. I don't anticipate that my son will have issues with the refill lead (assuming I refill the pencils for him).
