Out of the entire box we had only 9 that remained whole. Most were broke in two to three pieces making them unusable for meeting the purpose for purchase and at least for us do not make us feel like we received any positive value for the money. Due to majority being broken these are not fit for use in filter.

It came completely whole and unbroken the second time! If using in a sump this amount would last years! I have a bare bottom tank and needed some extra area for Beneficial bacteria to colonize so I'll be stacking some of these I'm hoping a small stack of these will work like a bio block and since I'm dosing sith super thrive this should work perfectly and I can break up pieces to add to my media for my canister filters. I will say I had to get the box shipped twice as the first order was shattered as they tried to deliver it but thankfully it was really simple and easy to have sent out again. I'm taking away a star though because I wasted days and doses of super thrive whilst the first order was destroyed and I had to wait and keep maintaining the tank in the mean time. I don't want to have to buy another bottle of super thrive. Hopefully I won't need to. This is a very porous and light nice looking material I don't think lining the back of the tank with these especially if placed neatly behind most of your aquascape and give beneficial bacteria plenty of room and oxygen due to the open and light design of the media. I am very pleased as I have not found a single broken piece 🙂 which I was worried about since I do want to use these for surface area I wanted them whole and uniform. Their gray color is perfect to be less noticeable and to hide in the background of the tank or behind and even under some decor. If it hadn't taken so long to get to me, and I knew for sure how well this worked, I would give 5 stars.

I use this ceramic in my koi pond to get that sparkly effect in the water and to really kick it up a knotch and because if I was a koi fish in a different life I would want clean and clear water.....

They have plenty of porous holes for bacteria to grow. They are high-quality and do not break easy. They would be easy to remove and wash off when they get too dirty. Highly recommend.
