This is a pretty slick adapter that will keep your old classic Pentax DSLR running even after replacement batteries are no longer available. This is also good if you want use the camera as a fixed studio camera that you don't have to worry about batteries. I'm using this with my K10D, which has somehow become a cult classic due to the CCD sensor. I've got a 18W PD powerbank that is slim and can easily fit in your back pocket or camera bag. So if I need power all day, I don't need extra batteries! However, there are a lot of confusing things with this cable. The manual says it supports USB C PD (Power Delivery) up to 65W, but the cable itself is marked 5V 2~4A, which seems to be QC 2.0. I tried it with 2 older PD chargers, a 65W and 90W, and they didn't work. I tried it with an 18W PD cellphone charger, and that worked fine. I also tried it with a different 67W PD charger, and it worked fine too. So it will totally depend on what your power supply can provide. My 18W PD power bank worked fine as well. I also connected a USB power meter, and it can definitely support 9V 2A. You can tell if it has negotiated the proper power by the Red LED that lights up steady. When you first plug it it, it will blink. If the LED turns off, it failed to negotiate the correct power. If it is on steady, it negotiated the correct power.Overall, YMMV...the is partially the fault of USB C PD and the confusing standards, but also the confusing messaging of the device and manual. When it works, it works great!
