Best negative display I've seen on a digital watch. All negative displays are finicky or a little difficult to read at certain angles, but this is by far the clearest one I've seen.

I have been having a lot of fun learning about HAM radio with this Radtel RT-590 however it has been really hard to learn both HAM and how to use this radio at the same time. There are many different models of portable radios out there making it hard to find a specific tutorial on this exact unit and the provided manual doesn't go in depth enough for me to understand all of the features. I am sure in time I will learn the ins and outs of this radio but for now I am slowly figuring it out still. In terms of the unit itself it feels really rugged nicely built and comes with all of accessories that you need to get started. The package comes bundled with the radio itself, battery, charging base, ear piece, antenna, and charging base along with usb-c charging cable, and data cable. I like that you are able to charge the unit using the provided charging base or through the usb-c port on unit.I like that the unit is able to easily copy nearby radio's frequency and receive FM band radio signal like a traditional radio. There is definitely a learning curve with this radio but I am excited to learn it and for $22 (at time of review) for the bundle I think this is a great starting point for anyone who is learning to get into HAM operating.

The device comes fully charged.I figured out how to listen to FM channels right away. Although I’m not a ham radio operator (yet), I’m excited to have a radio that lets me learn about ham radio.Even if you’re not a ham radio operator, the device offers FM, AM, and NOAA channels. I haven’t yet figured out the AM and NOAA channels directly out of the box, but I’ll get there. You can also scan local air traffic control, though I’ll need more time to play around with it.It’s a great starter kit, including an earpiece and belt clip for using the radio on the go, as well as a wrist strap. It feels solid and well-made, from the rubberized button covers to the flaps for the earpiece and USB-C jack. The radio can be recharged via an outlet using the included desktop charger stand or through the included USB-C cable (note: according to the instructions, this charging method should only be used in emergencies). The kit also includes a programming cable that connects to the headset port, while a USB-A end plugs into a computer. For more details on getting started with the programming feature, please refer to reviews by more experienced radio owners. This review is for ASIN: B0DJ2VF53XRadtel RT-590 Plus Dual Band Ham Radio Handheld Air Band Receive Rechargeable Walkie Talkie 200CH 5 Watts NOAA Weather Alert Flashlight SCAN VOX AM FM Type C Charger with Programming Cable, Earpiece

I find the Radtel RT-590 as good as some very expensive commercial portable radios (name brand Japanese manufacturers). I am thrilled to have another option for a budget 2m/70cm radio with air band RX, and 50mhz RX, FM radio, NOAA, and the nifty wireless replication between radios. What is most important, is this radio uses the same hardware and firmware as a very popular radio manufacturer - with open source firmware through community enhancements. USB charging too. It comes with everything to get started, charger, programming cable, dock, belt clip and more ... The Radtel transmits on 2m and 70cm up to 5 watts. I wish it had more power, 8 or 10 watts. This is a quality radio at an exceptional price. Recommended.

The RT-590 package is quite impressive with accessories and charger included. The radio is quite neat looking, but it is oh so confusing. The biggest negative of this unit is the documentation. The user manual basically goes over the features and identifies them, but gives no explanations on how to use them. This radio seems to be geared towards the experienced radio operator or hobbyist and not a beginner like myself. The other issue I had was that I was not able to connect the radio to the PC. I downloaded the connection software and radio firmware update utility directly from the Radtel site, but the radio refused to connect, even though I followed the instructions exactly. I even tried it on another older PC with Windows 10 with the same results. I may have a bad serial cable, as the radio does make some faint clicking sounds when connected, but it just won't link up.I will continue to play with this radio and try to learn, but the resources on the internet are limited for this radio. I will continue to research it because it seems like a neat device and I'd like to listen to the local air traffic on it.

This radio packs a lot of features. I've been using it on the 2m and 70cm bands, and the 5 watts of power gets out reasonably well for local contacts. The air band receive is a neat bonus for listening in, and having NOAA weather alerts built-in is really useful. The radio feels solid, and I appreciate the modern Type-C charging port – much better than proprietary chargers. Having 200 channels is plenty for my needs, and features like SCAN and VOX work as expected. For the price, including the earpiece and cable, I think it's a capable little radio, especially with the added AM/FM and air band receive capabilities.I have experience with this type of radio and think it is a good radio for beginners - but you will need to learn how to use this to get the full features because the instructions are limited.

This is my third watch like this since the turn of the century. This model simply changes the display to one that can actually be seen in the dark when the light button is pressed. The previous version/model was good but the light didn't sufficiently illuminate the time in total darkness. The illuminator version is better. These watches can't be beaten for the money. The band usually wears out before the watch quits and for a few extra buck you can replace the whole watch for close to the price of a new band. I'll gladly buy a 4th one when needed.

Es un reloj pequeño y ligero, fue un regalo, pero le gusto mucho!

This watch with the black background is easy to read and fits my bigger wrist well. It's not bulky and very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. As a Casio collector, it's one of my favorites for daily wear. 5 Stars!

So I ordered two Casio watches. This one and the 3556. They're within a dollar or two of each other pricewise but I think the 3556 aka WS1600 is better value wise because the illumination is real and useful and it's water resistant to a depth twice that (100M) of this model (50M). This model is smaller and lighter than the 3556 so those with smaller wrists may prefer it BUT it's little light borders on being useless whereas the WS1600 (water resistant to 100M) has an excellent illumination feature that really lets you see the watch face in the dark. So why did I order two similar watches? Because I just had a new battery installed in my Seiko 5 and it cost $21.67. The price of these Casio watches? WS1600 was $21.92 and the smaller one was $17.97 but the batteries in the Casios are supposed to be good for TEN YEARS! As they say, "Do the math."

Not readable in some daylight conditions. Watch must be tipped to be read in other daylight conditions. Light is too weak to remedy either condition. Nice style. Comfortable. I returned it and bought another Casio model.

El reloj es muy cómodo, de funciones básicas. Tal vez el único inconveniente es el botón de luz que no es fácil de oprimir, pero tampoco es para morirse.
