Seems to be very well made with quality materials and it functions perfectly so far. Does everything I need it to do and more.

I wanted an inexpensive radio to carry with me that would cover 2m Ham, air band, trains, local 911 frequency and Weather, an for an amazingly low price this does it all well!!! Bought 2. Very good reception, good sound and loudness, long lasting battery, universal "C" charge connector, included wall charger. Instructions are lacking, but a little experimenting and watching a couple of YouTube videos and I got it figured out. Got a CHIRP connector (for Baufeng) and managed to get CHIRP going and programmed the radios. Quite the find!

All in all a solid radio. First off, the screen “scratching” issue is not accurate. I think folks don’t realize there is a thin plastic film covering the screen that needs to be removed. Yes the thin film scuffs easily bc it’s simply to protect the screen during packaging and needs to be removed. Adding to the confusion is the unit comes with a larger, more obvious plastic screen protector during unboxing. The screen itself IMO is just ok…not super easy to scratch like in reviews but also doesn’t seem very “scratch resistant”. Hope that helps. Moving on…the Aviation reception with supplied antenna is pretty great! Overall the radio does pretty much what it says. Great battery life, good sound quality, and pretty darn good price at around $30. Things needing improvement are the instructions, buttons, and icons which aren’t intuitive and should include a clear “menu” button, red “back” button and green “ok” buttons to make things more intuitive. Also I’d prefer the “0” to be under the “8” like most are instead of to the right of the “6”. Lastly some instructions for using with CHIRP software would be helpful. Took me way to long to figure out how to connect the radio to CHIRP (you have to first “upload radio to chirp”) to connect. And at the time of this posting the software didn’t recognize the 470x had AM capabilities or band coverage down to 26mhz to store Aviation and CB channels using the software. Instead you have to store from radio then sync. U can choose to store aviation channels and select FM so it writes to radio and radio will automatically recognize switch to AM.All in all, pretty cool radio for the price!

I'm really liking this radio. USB-C charging, finally. I have connected it to my base station VHF/UHF antenna and checked into the local repeater net no prob. The next night I checked in standing in my front yard with the little antenna it came with. I'm sticking with the stock antenna for now (and I have other antennas) So may frequencies available. I love that I can hear local aviation. (my local CTAF is 123.000) Commercial FM is good. WX is good. I'm keeping all the programable buttons as is . I only use manual programing. Super easy on this radio. (repeater menu numbers are 6 ctcss, 27 offset, 28 +/-) I recommend deleting a channel (menu 3) before saving a channel (menu 2). Naming channels (menu 9) is easy. I like the display and dual watch (menu 27 TDR on/off) is handy. I don't believe there are any channel bank option but that's not a big deal. The battery seems like a beast. For the money the 470X is a ridiculous deal.cons - I have heard there may be some spurious emissions on low and mid pwr 2 meter but I have yet to run into that.Hard not to buy this radio

The radio was nice and loud, and strong, however the screen is horrible. My screen came already with a scratch, and I noticed that it easily scratches. I simply wiped a soft towel over the screen and it left marks.
