This is a huge upgrade for our 2010 Jeep Liberty (but doesn't have satellite radio or a CD player, in case those are important to you).Getting at the old radio was a lot easier than I was expecting it to be, but getting this new one in is somewhat fiddly; it took an extra set of hands to make sure everything was in the right place before we closed things up, and some of the connections (like the backup cam and the USB ports) needed to have some alterations made to the Jeep's facia so that they had a route out from behind the radio. The main connections exactly matched the Jeep's original connections and worked with no fuss.AirPlay worked without any hassle, either, and it isn't too much trouble to have the thing use a phone's hot-spot (via WiFI) for internet. What the WiFi really helped for was parking the Jeep close enough to the house to use our home internet to set up all the apps and such on the tablet.Being able to install Android tablet apps directly on to the unit means that you can set it up to do pretty much anything you could do on a separate tablet. There are all sorts of dashboard and navigation apps (online and off) you can run if you want to.A note: The Liberty has a different, simpler facia setup than the other Jeeps do. You can search online for videos by your exact model to decide if you are up to the chore.

I had this stereo installed in under 2.5 hours, and the sound quality is a night-and-day difference. The highs are crisp, the bass is deep, and the touchscreen is bright and responsive. Works perfectly with CarPlay!

This stereo unit upgrade is a major tech boost for Jeep Wrangler JK (2007–2018) and select Dodge Ram models, bringing modern features like wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to older vehicles. One of its strongest pros is its intuitive interface and smooth responsiveness, thanks to the upgraded Android 13 system and decent internal specs (typically featuring a quad-core or octa-core processor). Wireless connectivity eliminates cable clutter, making it more convenient for daily use. The display is usually sharp and vibrant, and features like Bluetooth, GPS, and customizable UI options make the overall driving experience more enjoyable. Installation is generally plug-and-play for those with basic car audio experience, which is another big plus.On the downside, some users report inconsistent performance with wireless connections, particularly with Android Auto, which can occasionally lag or drop. Audio quality through factory speakers is usually solid, but some compatibility issues may arise, especially with factory backup cameras or steering wheel controls, depending on the model year and trim. Additionally, while the unit supports a wide range of apps, not all are optimized for in-car use, which can be a mild drawback. Overall, it’s a cost-effective, feature-rich upgrade that brings a modern feel to older vehicles, but prospective buyers should be prepared for some setup adjustments and potential minor bugs.

Hubs is super busy, so I finally called the Jeep place to install this. They said it was simple. This is a nice upgrade to the somewhat primitive stereo that came with his old Jeep. It works great, east to use—same as any CarPlay device. Hubs can't figure it out yet, but that's right in line with his tech skills lol.

I wouldn't say it was worth $160. Unfortunately, because of a modification I made, it didn't fit my Jeep.
