Works great! Take apart before installing because it’s put together tight. Must fill with gas before installing or will not prime!

These Racor filter kits are much higher quality than the Sierra brand. I run these on two boats, as do my buddies who fish commercially.

Glad I spent a little extra for Racor quality. This filter installed easily using the same hardware placement as my canister filter and has been working without leaks for a few months. My experience with this brand has always been positive.

ONE STAR..? NO NOT REALLY..!! Did this to get the attention of all those that are aware of the problems with ETHANOL..laden fuels;In actuality this product..along with the filters deserves at least FIVE +++++ STARS!I'LL explain..I am a Marine journalist going on 3 decades..doing "DIY's" features in major boating publications. I did a published instal of one of these in our project boat..a I/O......using the same mount..but the metal drain bowl/cup ..(the plastic see through only for outside the bilges as per USCG regs...as most Out Bds.The unit works wonders for separating water..as well as dirt from gasoline sources that may be contaminated before going into your engines fuel system..injectors, carbs ect after you fill your boats fuel tank. . This will NOT do any magic for other issues..ie..Phase separation, old gas ect.The main reason a single star rating your asking..??? how the pre factory tightening of both the lower drain bowl/cup are pre set. I had the exact problem on a that DIY article a few years ago..and still unable to unscrew either the bowl...nor the entire filter.!! I called Racor and advised even a large strap wrench did not undo either and while attempting I crushed the new filter can making it unusable..!!.! I was then advised that due to Gov specs these S3227 filters must be torqued to 100 FT POUNDS!! I finally had to bolt the bracket in my large vise.. drive a long screwdriver through the NEW ATTACHED filter..attach a long leverage pipe to remove the filter/drain bowl. destroying the new filter attached to the mounting base.So do take this into consideration when you purchase this unit...if you damage the filter (at $29 buckroos @) a call to Racor and they will replace it at no charge...another reason ..FIVE STARS...GREAT PRODUCT....WORKS EXTREMELY EFFICIENTLY...GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE..but a major issue to remove the first included filter....do suggest to try removing filter before installing ..it will save you from a major issue after installed in your vessel.SAFE (& TROUBLE FREE) BOATING!!
