I don't usually review items frequently, but after reading some of the reviews on this page, I felt it necessary to comment on these headphones.I frequently listen to high-resolution music, so after trying these open-ear earbuds, I realized they have excellent sound. It's logical that to get the most out of them, it's best to use a high-resolution player and play music and audio files in high definition to maintain the audio quality. As for volume, I've tested it with the HiBy R6 III player, and the volume is more than enough to listen to music. As for sound reproduction, while the musical spectrum isn't very wide, considering that these are open-ear earbuds, it's more than enough to clearly hear the mid- and high-pitched tones and clearly differentiate the range of instruments in any piece of music. This is due to the Hi-Res Audio & LDAC system. In conclusion, these are the best open-ear earbuds of the different brands I've tried so far.

Let me preface this review by saying that my goal in seeking out earbuds is to find some that I can just wear all the time, whether that be for calls, music, social media, or audio books. And these are cute and small and have such a sleek look, without blocking out all other ambient sound, that I REALLY wanted to love them. However, I ended up giving them 2 stars, because the range on them is excellent, far surpassing the distance performance of any of my other Bluetooth sets. Didn't break up at all, even while traveling to all the other rooms in the house. But, sadly, the volume on these is very low, even at top phone volume. I tested these out last night to listen to an audio book, and even at the loudest phone volume, it still wasn't loud enough with any other ambient noise. You can't wash dishes in these. You can't do a load of laundry. All the sound is completely drowned out.And maybe that's why I found these SO uncomfortable. In order to hear at all, I had to wear them quite low, so the speakers were as close to the inside of my ears as I could get them. Initially, I felt no discomfort at all, but I guess they had been pressing along the cartilage of my ears, and by the time I did notice a couple of hours later, my ears ached and throbbed for at least 20 minutes after removal.Sadly, these are a no-go for me. Maybe with some manipulation to try to get a better fit, these could have worked. But the audio volume is a deal breaker. I even checked the instructions to see if there was a volume option specifically for the buds, but nothing was listed. :(

While I was excited about the clip-on feature of QCY Crossky C30S Clip-on Earbuds and found them to be comfortable and appealing, I am disappointed in the sound quality and volume level of these ear buds. When on a call, it sounds like the person I'm talking to is far away from the phone, and according to the person on the other end, I sound the same way. Additionally, the volume max is too low for my liking. If I'm surrounded by a lot of noise, I can barely hear my music or person on the other end of a call. These earbuds also come with a recommendation to download the QCY app for better function and additional features, but I didn't find that the app changed the volume level or call quality; plus it seems to be a "nosey" app that's capable of tracking my movements and activities, which I don't like.

This is the first time I've ever tried open-ear style buds, so I'd don't really have anything to base these against outside of my go-to in-ear pairs. The build quality of these buds is great and I'd say the fit and finish rivals offerings from the established players. The silver looks great and it reminds me of the Technics buds I used to own. The case is also quite compact and rounded so it won't feel too bulky in your pocket. Overall, high marks here. The open design has some inherent flaws that are largely the case with every brand's take on this style. The design is geared more towards maximizing comfort and maintaining awareness of your surroundings rather than immersion and isolation. They don't seal at all, so don't expect these things to have crushing bass or any kind of privacy. Even with ECY's placement of the drivers, they still leak sound like a sieve at higher volumes - more so than any other pair of earbuds I've used. That said, I still found them to sound surprisingly pleasant - warm, balanced, and plenty detailed. People will undoubtedly find them a little flat sounding but again, that's a consequence of the design. I find they lend themselves well to less heavy genres, but they still sound serviceable when you have to lean on the low end. They also support LDAC and while I can't say my ears are "golden" enough to really hear the advantage of lossless FLAC over a high resolution codec (or if this design and drivers are even good enough for the task), it's still a nice thing to have. The QCY app is pretty fleshed out and is how you can access EQ settings, change the touch controls, and enable LDAC among other things. It does try to get you to create an account and hand over a whole bunch of personal info, but you can bypass it by hitting the "tourist mode" option or whatever at the bottom of the login screen. They offer a ten band EQ, which is far more generous than most manufacturers are willing to provide, so you have plenty of control over your sound.Where these buds really excel though; is in the comfort department. Putting them on is undoubtedly going to feel a little weird for newcomers, but these things just disappear once you leave them on for a while because they aren't jammed into your ear canal like regular in-ears. They don't clamp hard at all so long term use isn't fatiguing in the slightest, but I also find they feel about as secure as ear hooks while being much less obstructive. I can even lie down on my side with these on and still feel reasonably comfortable. My only major gripe is with the controls. Volume control is disabled by default so you need to go into the app to enable it, and I wish there was more pronounced feedback when the controls are tapped.Otherwise, I'm surprised at how much I enjoy using the C30S and I think $48 is a fair price for them - a good entry point if you've ever been curious about this style.

I've been curious about this style ear bud for a while, so when I saw them I grabbed them up.I don't think I'll necessarily forget that I'm wearing them, but they are very ignorable. They are way lighter than I would have imagined, and they just sort of hug the side of my ears instead of being jammed into my ear canal. They look a bit tacky, but it is what it is. All earphones look tacky.I love that they don't have cords or strings or wires or anything that can get caught and pull them out. They don't tickle the back of my neck, and they don't get all in my hair. They're just on my ears. They do take a minor bit of fussing when they first go on, to get them aimed and pointed right so the whole frequency of sound gets where it needs to be. If they're pointed the wrong way, the highs or lows get a bit lost. Once I get them in place, they just stay where I want them and I go back to ignoring them. The sound quality is amazing. Music is great in its place, but it can be distracting. What I really enjoy is background sounds. ASMR is crisp and clear on these thing like I've never heard it, and my white noise generation app that I sleep to every night has tones to the sounds that I legit didn't know existed. They are true stereo. Things are very clear and crisp on the side that they are supposed to be. That's so rare, in affordable headphones, and it's absolutely essential for binaural audio enjoyment. The sounds swirl around my head, and it's beautiful.AND I can hear the rest of the world, so I don't feel like I have to be on high alert for things sneaking up on me.I love the case. It looks more high quality than it feels, but it holds shut fairly tight and I don't think it will open and release the earbuds into my purse. I wouldn't bank on it not scratching up over time, though.I will pass on the app, though. It needed a login, and the TOS started talking about data tracking and health connectivity and there is no reason headphones need that. They work fine without the app, so I deleted it and will enjoy them just fine as they are.
