This is a plastic replacement lid for glass pyrex dish, which I have had for 0ver 30 years. This may be third replacement lid. Lids wear out after a number of years, pyrex dishes last forever.

Yes, it fits perfectly and is an exact replacement for the original lid that broke over time. Functionality-wise it's 5 stars. But why on earth does a plastic lid cost MORE than the whole set including the Pyrex base (often on sale for about $7). It would seem that Pyrex treats their products as if they were razor blades (where the handles are basically free because people need to buy expensive replacement blades). Pyrex is giving out the glass bases for free knowing that over the life of the product they will make their money back selling lids. Seriously, $10 for a piece of plastic?? It must be made out of something very special.

I had my original pyrex glass containers for almost 10 years. Although they were of great use, the original lids did not have a tight seal as most of the other brands. Well after years of wear and tear, my lids began to crack and fall apart. So I thought it was time to get a new set. Then I thought that would be a waste of money to buy new sets. The glass part looked perfectly new. So I said what if they had the lid parts for sale rather than the whole set. So I searched Amazon and by golly they had replacement lids for them!! Needless to say I was a happy camper. It only costed me $4 a lid. When the delivery came and I put them on I noticed that they had a snug fit and tighter seal to it. Pyrex made a great adjustment with these new lids. I think they are total awesome!!!!
