I should start off by saying I love this air purifier as it has already made a noticeably difference in air quality in my house. The auto setting works well and it kicks on and off just fine as needed. It can be easily moved around even though it seems quite large in the ad photos. Only reason I’m not giving this product the 5th star is the noise level; when it is running full speed I can’t hear anything but the purifier inside my house. My fiance was knocking at the front door the other day and I left him outside because I couldn’t hear him LOL!

This unit is very sensitive to dust, smoke and cooking odors. It quickly removes all 3. We've kept ours on Auto, so it turns on the fan as soon as it detects impurities in the air. As the particle count goes back down, so does the fan speed, from high (level 5) down to fan turning itself off (0) when clear air has been detected for about 5 minutes. At that point, it goes into Eco mode, saving energy. We had to test it b/c didn't believe our air was so clean at first. I carefully lit a stick on incense and went near the intake fins. Instantly, the incense smoke registered and was soon cleared from the air. (So turn off the unit if you like keeping incense in the air for a while. lol.)After short learning curve, it's easy to use and seems dependable. The weight is just enough to keep it sturdy and steady, but it is easy for us to move. We purchased the model for 1500 sq. ft. and it's doing a good job for our double wide mobile home, here in the dusty desert where the wind can stir up a lot of dust and allergens outside.

I am very happy with my Shark Purifier. I have been using it for about 6 months now and it’s a rock solid air scrubber and it does its job quietly and consistently. I see less dust, the air smells clean and I only see it dip below 90% (when I use it consistently) after cooking certain foods or broiling a steak. It scrubs the smells pretty fast and gets things back to normal within a couple hours. This purifier is the perfect size for medium to large rooms. I use it for my duplex to cover a living room about 14’x14’ and a kitchen about 16’x8’. I have a smaller Shark I use for my bedroom air scrubbing duties. You simply won’t find a better unit for under $300 that does the job as well, and with filter sets that are as cost-effectively inexpensive. Not *cheap* but not expensive like some of the other brands. The front panel gives real-time air quality info and the filters are absolutely easy as heck to replace with no tools needed. I haven’t needed to change mine yet, but I have checked on the process and it’s a no-brainer. I highly recommend this capable, polite little buddy. It keeps my air clean and never complains. It also happens to look great too. Almost like a post-modern decoration, and not “industrial” like so many other purifiers.

I looked and researched air purifiers for a couple weeks after our old one quit performing. I kept coming back to this Shark and bit the bullet and paid the $300 for it. After the first day of running it, I had zero regrets! It works perfectly! We have it in our living room which is off of our kitchen and we keep it on AUTO. When we’re cooking, the Shark will drop from 100 where our air was clean, the fan will kick up a notch or two, depending on how low the numbers went, and it really will clean the cooking orders out! We have allergies and this has helped a lot! We own a home that is over 100yrs old and I used to go around the house dusting all the time and I notice there’s barely any dust on my furniture. I also notice if I spray Febreze air freshener or fabric refresher that the Shark senses it and will kick on and suck my air freshener out. lol I love Scentsy and their wax melts so when I use the one that is closest to the Shark I will just turn the air purifier off for a while because it will sense it and drop to yellow or even red and kick the fans on and clean the nice smell right out of the living room where I have that one sitting. Not complaining, but sometimes I like to smell my Scentsy! Also, there’s different speeds that the fan will run on and even on the highest speed it’s not loud at all. My house has never smelled so clean. We have two 70lb boxers and it has helped tremendously with having pets. When I’m gone for hours and come home, I notice that I don’t smell any signs of owning a dog when I walk into the house and my husband said the same thing when he came home from work the first night we owned it. There’s a light up ring around the numbers on the front that will be green when it’s clean, turn yellow when it’s getting bad and turn red when it’s really bad. We leave ours on AUTO so we don’t have to do anything, the Shark does the air cleaning for us. The never change filter is huge plus! Those filters can be so expensive so it’s nice that we don’t have that expense a couple times a year! The only thing that I’d say would be a “con”, if you want to call it that, and we honestly don’t even care about it, is that air freshener thing on top of the machine. We have never smelled anything come from that and I doubt we will buy new replacement neutralizer cartridges for it. I don’t see the point of it. I don’t see, or smell rather, where it does anything.I hope I covered everything and my review helped you make a decision on your purchase. I’m just an ordinary person with pets and an older home that PAID $300 for this machine and did not receive it for free to write a review like others do with stuff. My review is just our honest opinion that I wanted to share because we like it so much. It works GREAT! Better than any air purifier that we have owned in 30yrs. If you’re looking to buy a new air purifier for your home, I highly recommend this Shark! We sat the empty box in the office and thought we would hold on to it for the 30 days that we have to return something to Amazon just in case we didn’t like it but we threw it away the first week we used it.
