Should last 2-3 months. Super easy to install. I purchased the name brand over the generic because many reviews said the quality was way better. And since we are drinking from it, I wanted the best option.

I like the filter because it takes lead out of the water and last 3 months.

No, you can't magically put a filter into your water line. Yes, you have to buy the filter mount for it. But these filters are worth it.So what gives about water? It has no flavor! Wrong!! It does have flavor and that flavor comes from the minerals found within the water. That's why tap water from different regions have different tastes. The Pur filter filters out certain minerals that I find to be a little harsher. What are they? I don't know. But the water has a softer feel to it and has a cleaner taste. This is why I trust Pur filters, and this one in particular. And now, a lesson in water. Do you buy bottled water thinking it's better than tap? Think again! Laws require that public water sources be tested frequently (usually daily). Some cities like Austin, Texas test their water several times a day, every day. They test for parasites and bacteria and viruses. Bottled water companies do not have to suffer that burden. Even worse, they usually steal water from local water supplies and re-sell it to the public for exorbitant amounts of money. Then they label the water "Artisan" or "glacier" or "mountain fresh." It's all nonsense. There are a few exceptions but those opinions are not for here. Not only do these companies steal water but the oil needed for the plastic bottles is ridiculous. Here's what I do. Yes, I'm guilty of buying certain brands of bottled water. However, I re-use those bottles by filling it with my filtered water at home. If I'm lucky enough to remember, I'll use a stainless steel thermos to take water with me.Make sure you drink plenty of water. Make sure you do it responsibly. This Pur filter will help you with both.
