I added this to my Surface Pen, and these things wrote very well. I use a screen protector and it had a great paper feel.

I have multiple stylus pens for Surface that I keep in the office, home office, in my laptop bag, etc. that I have acquired when on sale. None of them are Microsoft brand. Out of the pens, only one has the same diameter and length for this tip to work. I find the smooth ball tip is nicer to write with. It seems sturdy and I probably won't ever use all of the tips that came with the package. There is a coupon promo currently (42%j off) which makes it worthwhile to get.
