Bought one for my in-laws they’re having power surges and messing up the outlet, installed it no more. Then came back on Amazon and bought another one for myself no issues.

This worked perfectly. I notice a flicker in the lights, indicating in coming power issues. So I turned my attention to the refrigerator, and the refigurator was off with the first voltage sage. A second later, all power went out, but not without 4 power jolts within 2 seconds, and the hole time the refrigerator power was off. Ten minutes later, I looked at the refrigerator, and it was running again. All this is in hopes we can help protect a 5K REFIGURATOR.

Says it is built specifically for refrigerators, but I find it odd that product description is lacking key information that is typical of surge protector specifications - namely the the joule rating and the response time to kick in when over/under spike is detected. Not to mention the length of the plug-in power cord, and the dimensions of the unit itself is not provided. I took a chance and purchased anyway, hoping that power cord was long enough and that it has a joule rating between 1000 - 2000 joules, since it is made specifically for “refrigerators”. Based on my research on surge protectors for refrigerators, anything less than 1000 joules is not enough for a larger capacity refrigerators, and the higher, the better for large appliances. (I did message the seller after my purchase and will update if I get answers)The reasons I purchased this unit is for the variable time delay setting (3 minutes not sufficient for refrigerators, 7 is ideal), it is rated for 20 amps, and can be mounted beside the refrigerator. It is pretty light weight (thought it’d be heavier) so installation on the wall beside fridge was easy and didn’t require any heavy duty hardware. It didn’t come with any mounting hardware, which is OK for me as I have plenty of my own. It appears well made, and is thick plastic. The unit itself is about 3-5/8”wide x 6” tall x 2-3/8” deep/thick and the power cord is about 18.5” long. It handles 3 “straight” power cord plugs easily. However, If your refrigerator power cord plug is 90 degrees like mine, then only 2 of the 3 outlets are available when plugged into outlet #1 (see photos).I did notice that when I selected the 3 or 7 minute delay time, the red light indicators, directly below the green time delay indicators, appeared “on” when viewed straight on, and weren’t “on” when viewed at an angle from above. This leads me to believe that it is “over-light” coming from the green indicator bulbs directly above, as the refrigerator was definitely on and working in both instances. Photos provide direct, level view and angled looking down showing the visible faint red light (one photo shows a really red light, when it was actually much fainter in person).Overall, I am happy with my purchase so far. The surge protector appears to be operational and the refrigerator is definitely working, it was easy to install, and reasonably priced. I am crossing my fingers at this point that my fridge is truly protected since I haven’t no idea what the joule rating is! It could be 9, 90, 400, 900, 1050, 2000 - so I really don’t know how good this surge protector really is. We shall see!

Solid product and works exactly as it should. I run both a smaller chest freezer and a full size fridge and freezer off it with no problems whatsoever. Here in Florida the weather necessitates our fridge and freezer appliances having a delay surge protector. I set it for 5 min off and works like a charm!
