There is a big light box at our local kid's museum that my children have enjoyed playing with, so I got this for them. It's weird, because when I ordered it, I thought it was blue. The box shows a blue one, but the color is really like a peach and when the light is on, it looks orange. The listing says orange, so that's accurate. This has a few different settings for the light. I put pictures of them. The buttons to turn it on and off and set the color are on the cord and easy to figure out. It lights up well, and my kids have had fun with it. You can buy things that work specifically with a light board or you can use anything that is clear on it. We had clear 3D shapes (they look exactly like the ones they have in the product photos) and we also have some flat shapes that are clear, and they played with those on it. You could also put things that you want to try to "see through" like leaves, etc. It can help you see more details on things. I don't think this lights up quite as much as the product photos show, but it works fine.I look at reviews a lot while shopping. I hope this review helps!

My 5 year old twins LOVE it! I think anything that lights up and is colorful just completely enthralls them. There are 3 different "modes;" white light, white/blue, and red/white/blue. You can easily adjust the brightness of it, to adjust for the ambient light in the room. One cool feature is that although it comes with a power cable to plug it into a wall outlet, the cable is actually a USB cord, so if you want, you can plug it into a battery pack. So you can set this up anywhere! We've mostly been using colorful transparent blocks with it, but my kids like to experiment with different objects on it, to "see if the light goes through." They don't realize it, but they're actually learning about light, transparency and translucency! This thing has been such a hit, I may get a couple for my nieces and nephews too.

This light box is neat. This one has the function to not only be on and off with white lights but also has a few options of colored lights. The cord is long enough and the switch on the middle of the cord is helpful. I think the box itself is too deep. Not sure why it couldn’t be thinner.

This is a neat box, but it's incredibly cheap plastic. I don't expect it to last more than a year. But it is fun, my oldest likes it for tracing pictures and my youngest like to put his magnet tiles on it.

This is pretty much just a lightweight Tupperware box with an LED strip in it, but it’s a nice entry-level option for a product that’s usually extremely expensive. Having the multiple light color options is a nice plus. Lots of creative play potential!
