It is only a pen! Actually, they write very smooth, nice color ink, rather comfortable, and liked them so much I bought their counterpart the ultra-thin writing version. I still slightly favor the BIC yellow classic fine point, but you can not go wrong with these. I have had them six months thus far and pleased overall.

My wife has rhenards, ie poor circulation and very cold hands, so she absolutely loves this hand warmer/dryer, especially for the winter. We installed it next to the kitchen sink. It worked great for about 8 months, then quit. I checked power, etc., then got hold of service@pensonandco.com. They replaced the unit, no questions. You can't beat that for customer service!

Updating my previous review as of 12/20/18: This one lasted several months before it gave out. I will not buy another one. They don't last very long with normal usage. I need to find a longer lasting hand dryer without spending an arm and a leg.
