Very high quality leather. Color is not as shown in the pictures, but a little greenish. But it still looks nice.

The desk pad is a excellent quality desk mat, however the stated colour was no where close to what I was expecting it to be

This is beautiful thick genuine leather, it is soft and so comfortable, and provides a luxurious cushiony feel for arms. I've been using it for 5 months to protect my solid wood table top (raw wood protected only by wood wax). No colour transfer at all.However, as with all leather products, this desk pad will show wear and tear over time. Given that this is thick genuine leather, it will easily scratch and stain and it is not naturally waterproof. I've applied leather balm to buff out the scratches, and provide some protection against water stains. Picture 1 shows the scratches before buffing, vs. picture 2 after I applied leather balm. The water stains do eventually buff out, and the scratches will buff and blend to some extent. The imperfections adds to the wonderful natural ageing of the leather patina overtime.4.5 stars for that fact that this product easily gets water stains and scratches.Highly recommended, especially if you like the feel of genuine luxurious full grain leather, and you don't mind applying leather balm or equivalent to keep this pad in the best condition.

There are things you need and then there are things you just want. Once in awhile these two intersect. For me, Polare's new leather desk pad protector combines both. I've always liked fine leather goods and I've purchased a number of items from Polare in the past. However, this item really meets a need for me. Since the beginning of COVID-19 I have been working from home and haven't been into the building in over a year now. I have a small home and I don't have a separate home office or den. My work space is whatever surface I lay my laptop on. Most of the time that's been my dining room table. However, the table has a lacquered finish and it makes using an optical mouse difficult because the LED reflects off the table's surface and makes the mouse unresponsive. I've been using a piece of cardboard as a mouse pad. But Polare's leather pad is perfect. Now the mouse and cursor move smoothly and accurately and the pad is large enough to provide ample coverage on the table. And it's got that great look, feel and smell of good leather. This pad comes in two colors; the dark brown that I ordered and a lighter camel colored one.

I had previously purchased one of those large gaming mouse pads and while they worked, I didn't really like the way the stitching on the edges felt and the neoprene surface also didn't work too well with my wrist rests. So while looking for an alternative, I stumbled upon leather desk pads. I still wanted a large pad (to cover all the scuff marks on my desk) but most of the ones i saw had stitching on the edge, which I didn't like and is unnecessary for a flat sheet of leather. I also wanted full grain leather because they are suppose to be the most durable.As luck would have it, I saw this leather desk pad that matched everything I was looking for (large size, full grain, no edge stitching) from Polare. I had previously purchased a leather bag from them a few years ago and am extremely happy with the quality of both the leather and the product itself.It arrived a few days ago... and I have been using it since. It's great! It's still the high quality full grain leather I was familiar with from Polar. It seems to be about 5-6oz leather (2mm in thickness) which is pretty thick (wallets use 1 to 2oz leather so this is easily 3 times thicker. It picks up scuff marks easily which I like in leather. They easily go away if you just rub it a little, to redistribute the oil and blend it back in.Other than that, there's not much else to say about it. It's a high quality leather desk pad that im using as a mouse pad. It works as advertised.One thing I will note is the edges aren't burnished... which I do prefer. It's not too big of a deal as you can easily do this yourself with some water and something hard to rub against the edge. It would have been nice if the edges were finished but I understand that it's a personal preference and not everyone wants a burnished edge.
