Spindle hole could have been a few thousands tighter but didn't matter. Sound quality definitely improved. Project debut.

I bought this for a Project Debut Carbon Evo I bought. I was able to save some money on the initial purchase so decided to purchase an upgraded platter. I got this yesterday and set it up. Played one record and all seemed well. Trued another and I got tons of distortion and horrible tracking. I noticed the tonearm moving lot in the vertical axis. I thought it was my record. Nope. The platter is warped. I'm going to try a replacement. If it's the same story I'm just going to return for a refund. Was hoping to save some money but there might be a reason why the legit product from Project costs twice as much.Update- the second platter appears to be better but still slightly warped. It's a mass produced knock off from China so can't have the expectation it will be equivalent to the real deal. For about a third the price of the actual platter from Pro-ject I think this is acceptable for now. I'll still end up getting the real platter but this will suffice for now. I have upgraded my 1 star rating to 3.

Really happy with the build quality and sound on this. While it will work without the shim, it really shines with the improved VTA from the shim install. Tried both ways and it was much better with the shim installed. It only takes about 10 minutes tops to install it.

you cannot appreciate vinyl without this no more record background noise at all just superb cannot fault.
