There's not much out there if you need an older style LGA1155 (Intel 2nd/3rd gen) motherboard, especially an M-ITX that's new and not used. This no-frills "generic" Chinese board has NO documentation anywhere in any language. This is not a beginner's board! You're expected to know how to hook everything up on your own. I've got mine running with a handful of used parts I just had lying around, namely an Intel i5-3470S CPU, a generic CPU cooler, 8gb DDR3 RAM (2 x 4gb), and a 128gb M.2 nvme SSD. I also have some crusty 8 year old ATI video card installed. (the Intel on-board graphics via the CPU have not aged well). I was able to get Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, Linux Mint 22.1, and Windows 10 (version 22H2) running during testing with no issues. All 3 of the OS's I tried were able to find drivers for everything on their own with no issues. This tech is FAR TOO OLD to run Windows 11 (but you knew that already). After Windows 10 support ends, Linux Mint is looking very ideal for this modest setup. Anyway, you'll need a USB WiFi adapter or plug your lan cable directly in the back, as here's no place to install a WiFi card (no big deal, really). The "special trick feature" of this board is the mysterious availability of an M.2 nvme SSD drive slot! If I recall, I think I had to initialize/format the drive on a different PC using an external enclosure before I could get this board to see my M.2 drive... anyhow, it somehow works. As putting an M.2 nvme drive on old board architecture is basically a hack to begin with, (oh, those crafty Chinese engineers!), I've noticed some board lag during large file transfers, but it's not enough of an issue to be a deal breaker. The BIOS is VERY bare bones but gets the job done. I don't see any options there to control CPU fan speed. I suspect the CPU fan will always run at full speed... but that's a common-ish oldschool ITX problem anyway. The build quality of the board is OKAY. As long as you keep in mind not to expect current-gen performance, and you're an experienced PC builder, you'll be fine with this board. As always, your mileage may vary.

The motherboard in my old computer died and I purchased this so that I could reuse all my components. So far this is working great. The form factor is a little smaller than my previous motherboard but it is actually an upgrade as I can now install 16GB of DDR3 memory. This was a great way to extend the life of my processor and other components for just a small investment. This new setup will be running a small Linux server.
