This is a good set for holiday decorating but I would have liked glitter beads at least. They would have reflected Christmas lights so nicely. I believe I got the seller's last set and it was on sale. So it was well worth the price for the amount of beads. Plus the extra large peg board that comes in the set too. I got very excited about it!

Here's the deal - we are not novice perler crafters. I was doing perler beads when I was a kid, with the kids I nannied, and now regularly with my own kids. We have perler stuff all over the house and I've gotten the ironing down to a science. That said, this was a nightmare. First, all the colors were mixed together - not sure why they couldn't be separated - so that took us some time to do first. The instructions are double sided, which means you'd have to fully make the wreath first before you can make the second layer/hanging smowflakes. I remedied this by copying the individual side, cutting out sections, and lining them up on our large square boards so the kids could work on those while I did the wreath. Again, lots of extra prep, but it came together eventually. Now for the ironing. Started on the wreath first and it just would not come together. Then I realized that this thing was going to break apart (especially the parts that stuck out) if I didn't flatten it out. That meant we couldn't stick the top layer on with pegs, but we figured we'd just glue it and it would be fine.By the time I got it even remotely even looking, the board was warped/bubbled up in the center (meaning it would have been very difficult to do the individual ones if I still needed the board for that part) and it was almost impossible to distinguish the white beads from the clear ones in parts. Basically, it didn't look like a wreath of distinguishable snowflakes. AND it was still super flimsy.Probably 3+ hours in at this point and we decided to scrap it. I'm going to iron out their favorite individual snowflakes just to have, but the wreath is toast. I guess not the worst thing for the $9 it cost, but we could have easily made individual snowflakes with our own collection of beads and boards.Definitely would NOT recommend this, especially if you're a perler newbie or plan on doing it with younger kids. You will end up crying.
