I was up in the air about buying this product because of the previous reviews. I needed a hole punch that could go through cellophane bags. This punch goes through those bags very well, and I recommend it for anybody who is looking for a punch for the same use because a regular hole punch can’t do the job. Granted, you have to push through the cellophane and then I turn the bag while the punch is attached to make sure that I get a clean cut, but it works wonderfully well. If you try to do a quick punch, it doesn’t work as well as it would if you take your time to make sure that the punch makes it through the cellophane.

I scrapbook & therefore needed a hole punch that could punch holes in “ PLASTIC” scrapbooking sheet protectors. I tried gently, hard, with & without the black component. It did NOT work & messed up the plastic sheet protector. Waste of money & high hopes. At least the hole punch didn’t break.

I spin fibers from various sheep breed studies into yarn . And I keep samples and notes in an enormous three ring binder (2nd photo). Each sample is in a big plastic Ziploc bag. But not the kind that food goes in! These are more like envelopes. You can kind of see them too in the second picture.I’ve been putting three holes in each of these zip lock bags with a paper punch, and it’s been a misery. If you look at the first picture, you can see that this punch, when activated, goes through the plastic and hits a large black plastic disk. And that’s exactly what you need if you’re going to be punching holes in plastic bags! The plastic drizzles all over them the place with a paper punch because it’s not stiff like paper. Then you just end up feeling frustrated and it’s difficult.So this is terrific! (By the way, I got the enormous white binder and the clear acrylic Ziploc envelopes from Amazon also.)Putting Ziplocs in binders is ideal for crafters, and maybe people, who perhaps collect herbs, and people like me who collect natural materials and make natural dyes to dye wool with…notes and samples are easily stored and accessed this way.I got the idea from working in a fabric notions warehouse back in the 70s. Every time we sold a bit of braid or fringe or anything, it had to be noted in one of the company’s enormous, binders. It was way back before the time of computers, so you could take how much was in stock to begin with, subtract out what was sold, and you’d know what was left. Those binder's back in the day were reinforced I think, maybe with fiberglass backing and they were really tough! I haven’t been able to find anything that durable but so far this plastic and cardboard constructed enormous three ring binder is working just fine for me. And the punch is ideal!

This hole puncher is convenient to have. It's sturdy, durable and easy to use. It can be used on a variety of items with ease. This is a great product. I like it and I am pleased with it.
