Update: I was provided a replacement can that solved the broken pedal problem. I did express to the seller (who has been amazing) that the pedal needs to be stronger. I only open the can once a day and it just feels very flimsy. I am happy with the new can and appreciate the sellers concerns.While most of this product is nice, the foot pedal broke after a few uses. It is very thin and fragile. Needs better foot pedal.

This container has a capacity of 3.1 gallons, which is sufficient to keep enough dog excrement to last for many days before it has to be evacuated. I find this to be a really useful feature since it eliminates the need for me to make repeated visits to empty it, yet it still manages to keep the odor confined. I believe that the step-to-open function is really helpful, particularly in situations when you have a lot of things on your hands and you don't want to bend down and touch the lid. The pedal operates without any hiccups, and I have not had any problems with it being stuck or not opening completely. A 7.8-inch activated carbon filter is included with the trash can, and it does an excellent job of minimizing any unpleasant odors that may be present. In spite of the fact that I was concerned about the accumulation of odors on warm days, I discovered that the filter was able to do its function rather successfully. I believe that having a reliable system for controlling odors is essential for a product such as this one, and I have not been let down by such mechanisms. Especially considering that this can is situated in close proximity to our patio, which is where we prefer to unwind, it makes a significant impact.

Pros:It looks nicer than other types.The outer can is made of metal.The lid closes slowly.Cons:When you install a bag the lid suctions to the top and the foot pedal won't work.The opening is not large enough for a large scoop pan so you end up picking up the poop twice. Once in the yard and again when you spill.To remove the bag you better have some rubber gloves and some dryer sheets for your nose ready because you have to remove the insert by hand to get the bag out and the carbon filter will not help you here.The bag gets stuck in the plastic container and will require both hands to remove the bag.The filter is secured poorly and ended up falling into the poop on day 4.This might work for a very diligent pooper scooper who is not trying to wait for trash day and uses very small tools to scoop with. But if you have more than one medium to large size dog and only have time to pick up once a day then this will likely not work out.Question for the creator:What good is a foot pedal if it doesn't work and you still have to get uncomfortably intimate with the contraption to empty it's contents? #antibacterialsoap
