My rabbits really do love this

So the hutch itself is good quality for a assemble at home item. But it was way smaller then I imagined. However I did not get out an actual measuring tape to really see the measurements first hand. So that's my own fault. It's good for a 1 bunny cage set up. Far too small for 2. Which is now my dilemma. Also there's no opening to get to the bunny's when they lay underneath the upper level house area. So its tricky when you want to hold them and they're hiring under that area. Otherwise this a cute setup. I'd also like to add that I'd say this is more of an indoor cage rather than an outside cage. That's just my opinion.

This rabbit hutch arrived very quickly. Faster actually than several other smaller items that I ordered from a nearer location. So kudos to the folks at Aosom Direct for that! There were some concerning looking dings and tears on the edges of the cardboard box, as one would expect with such a large and heavy box Thankfully, there was lots of extra cardboard supports and Styrofoam to keep everything protected. The hutch itself was simple enough to construct for two people. The numbers on some of the parts were a little faded, so we had to be careful to not accidentally use similar looking parts in the wrong places. Thankfully the directions came with pictures so nothing was put in the wrong spot. When screwing together some of the panels, you will want to be careful with bending or lifting some of the parts during construction. The wood is light and somewhat flimsy. It would be very easy to rip off pieces (like the tiny hinges for the roof) when moving, or even opening the cage.We open the roof cautiously and we never let it rest in the open position under its own weight.Last note. If your rabbits are jerks (please contain your snickering), you may want to invest in some rubber putty or some other sealant to close the gaps and pockets between where the wiring meets the wooden frame. ESPECIALLY AT THE GROUND LEVEL. It looks cleaner and it gives your jerks fewer places to fling "wet dirt."

**Update 3 months after purchase**After 3 months, screws are coming loose and platform that leads to the upper level no longer tests on the bottom, but rather has a bounce to it. It takes about 45 minutes to clean due to only having one late opening at the top and one small door, which is not useful for cleaning. Definitely better suited for outdoor use instead of indoor. It can get quite messy.Pros: size is perfect for 2 guinea pigs; we're thinking about getting a rabbit and the space would still be sufficient, even though they still get "playtime" in their playpen. Our two guineas love it.Cage was bigger than expected.Cons: 1. Came slightly damaged in a couple of places, but not enough to prompt a return. No written instructions and somewhat unclear picture instructions. No pre-drilled holes, but wood is soft enough to use a manual screw driver.2. The litter tray for the bedding is very difficult to put in; once you get it in, be mindful how far you pull it out for cleaning, because putting it back in will take some patience. I had to saw a little off one side on the bottom, then sand it down with sandpaper to get it back in, but it still gets stuck. Be sure to use training pads in the tray along with bedding because the bottom is not rust proof.4. Very difficult to clean whole cage due to limited/easier access. The right side of the cage only opens from the top; we can't get to the left, bottom part of the cage without pulling the litter tray out completely. There should be an extra door on each side in the front of the cage for easier access. To clean the bottom, we have to lift the whole cage, which is extremely inconvenient, so I'm trying to think of a better way for cleaning. I scoop their waste daily (in the prices of litter box training) and do a major clean once weekly.4. Food/hay tray is useless...doesn't even fit.Overall, we're satisfied with the purchase, quality could just be better for the amount of money it costs.

A few things to keep in mind:1. per other reviews..no pre-drilled holes..but not big problem..wood is soft enough to "drill" screws directly into the wood...that being said..not sure how the wood will hold up outside..time will tell2. screws/hardware provided is not galvanized (actual cage metal is) and will most likely rust3. def only big enough for one rabbit4. tray for food inside - you'll need to bend it a bit to get it to fit..but malleable5. instructions are just pictures...not extremely difficult but if you have trouble reading plans I would stay away..doable but you def need to be able to visualize the outcome6. no default place to hang a water bottle ...so I'll either drill/attach or just place a bowlAll in all ..took 45-60 min to put together..all you need is a Philips head screwdriver (drill helps), great design and overall nice layout...prop to hold up the roof, the tray to slide out (must use pellets) per another review, the tray is a little sticky at first but i am sure will get better with use.Just put it together and if I remember I'll come back in 30-60 days and update
