I think this product seems very well made. I was curious about how much the product would stretch and on the Paracord Planet website they say "Paracord Planet Shock Cord has a rubber core with 100% elongation +/- 10%". Upon receiving I had cut a one foot section for the project I'm working on and I was able to stretch that to 25 inches. With all the pieces I cut I melted the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying, It melted together easily to form a nice clean and strong end. I thought this product exceeded my initial expectations I had when I purchased this product. Initially I was also curious about the breaking strength of this product and also on the paracord planet website they also claim this 1/8" shock cord has approximately 100 LBS of strength. I never tested that but once the product is fully extended is does feel really strong.Unimportant but why and how I used it:I used very short lengths of this product along with paracord to connect between the support poles inside my clam flip up icehouse because on really windy days where the wind keeps changing directions I got tired of the wind blowing the canvas cover in the corners of the icehouse far into the interior of it. I wanted to add some shock cord along with the paracord because depending on if the icehouse is sitting on a bunch of snow the flip open sides may open may or less each time depending on the conditions. My fix helps out quite a bit, at least now I'm not getting annoyed by the wind if its blowing really strong.
