I am such a big fan of these I wanted to make it clear that my enthusiasm has nothing to do with having received these for free. I genuinely have purchased this type of charger for the rest of my families cars as well as friends and everyone has loved them. If you use a USB adapter for your cigarette lighter anyways there is no reason not to get these, especially given the price! These connect directly to the electrical system instead of relying on the lighter so you can get much faster charging speeds. Plus it has a cover, on and off switch, and 4 fast charging ports instead of the usual 2. For this price there is genuinely no reason not to install them. It’s as easy as pulling the old cig lighter out, disconnecting the wires from it, connecting them to the new charger, and fitting the charger into the old cig hole. Took me 10 minutes at most. They even come with optional hardware to wire it yourself if you don’t want to replace the lighter.

Fits right in the hole in the dash with the round 12v plug removed.

Our use case is in the marine environment and these things are perfect. They fit securely into a slightly enlarged 1" hole (or 30mm hole saw if you have it). Terminal connections are very good and supplied wire is tinned. I haven't load tested it to measure delivered wattage yet, but the USBA/C ports are well oriented and proved a lot of options in a small package. The best thing about these is the small power switch embedded in the face plate. Haven't seen this option among it's peers, but it's brilliant. Particularly at this price point. The switch allows you to completely turn off the outlet, eliminating all parasitic draws when not in use. Even when connected to a power supply and the switch is in the on position, the back lighting consumes a miserly 1mA. This is much better than other backlit USB outlets I've tested. The one detail I'm disappointed with is the cover hinge. It fits very well but rather than a mechanical hinge, it's a molded flap which will eventually break after enough use. Small detail, but something that would make a big difference to the long term durability of the device.Other than that, these represent a great value. Very impressed.

I ordered a 2 pack with charging cable. I always order low voltage stuff like this all the time. I love building and fixing things using low voltage. These little USB ports come in very handy. There are a couple of key things I look for in these. The first is an aluminum body to help with heat dissipation and durability. This set is all plastic. It's working great right now, but it's also wintertime, and I use it in the cold. I can't say how well it will work in the summer in a hot car. I'm not deducting any stars for the plastic body because I knew they were plastic before I ordered them. I will update after the summer comes. Another feature I look for is a power switch built into the socket. These did come with a power switch. It's a very nice power switch. I like being able to turn them off independently from each other if I have them hooked up to a main switch. I like sockets that have good water / dust proofing. These are great because not only do they have the cover, but the ports stick out further than the socket. One thing I have mixed feelings on is the back lighting. Backlights are great for projects like your car. They really help you see the ports at night. The issue is if you are strictly battery power, you want to save as much power as possible. The lights are just another power consumption. This is not negative or positive. It's just something I wanted to point out for someone who may have a particular use in mind. This included nice battery connection cables. The cables are fused with 10a fuses. They also included extra fuses. They included rubber covers for the cable connections. These sockets also included a USB-C accordion style cable. The cable feels durable and well-made but does not stretch much at first. You have to use it and stretch it multiple times to get soften it. The sockets and cable do fast charge my older samsung devices. They also superfast charge my newer devices. This is a great little kit for the price. This would be great for a portable power station, but maybe not the best option for a car that gets very hot during the summer. Although I prefer aluminum, these are exactly as described, so I have to give them 5 stars.

I installed this charger in my classic BMW, and I’ve got to say, it’s a solid upgrade. It brings in the modern conveniences like USB-C and fast charging without looking out of place or clashing with the car’s original interior. The compact size and simple styling helped it blend right into the back of the center console. The unit claims a combined total output of up to 90W, specifically, 36W per USB-C port and 18W per USB-A. While this sounds great on paper, real-world performance came in a bit lower. With one USB-C and one USB-A port in use, I was only getting close to the advertised speeds under ideal conditions. When pushing both USB-C ports at once, the charger showed signs of throttling. It’s not bad, just something to be aware of if you're expecting full 90W power delivery. That said, for charging a phone, dashcam, or GPS, it gets the job done reliably. The inclusion of a USB-C cable was a thoughtful touch. It’s not high-end, but it worked straight out of the box and was long enough to route cleanly through the cabin. Small detail but appreciated. One of my favorite features is the power switch with the backlit ring. It prevents parasitic drain on the battery and gives a clean on/off toggle when the ignition is off. The light is subtle and doesn’t overpower the cabin at night, though I would’ve loved to see an option to pick the LED color. The default blue is fine, but having choices—amber, white, or red—would help it better match different interior lighting setups, especially in older vehicles.Overall, this charger checks almost every box: easy to install, compact, functional, and visually unobtrusive. For the price, though, it's a smart and worthwhile upgrade for older cars that need a touch of modern tech without sacrificing character.
