Good size, looks safe as all seems are secure. I'm using in my white sugar container as it kept going clumpy due to moisture. Been using for a week now and sugar is still dry. So seems to work well.

These silica packs from TPmax arrive packed into a suitably sized grip-seal pouch with the opening heat-sealed shut. I’ve had the opportunity to try both the 4 x 100g and the 24 x 20g sized packs and they both arrived packaged in the same way, the only difference is the size of the sealed pouch and the fact that one wasn’t vacuumed before the heat-seal was applied. The bag they arrive in has a pair of easy-tear sections though they’re not very well-placed, so I ended up having to use a pair of scissors to get the pouch open without destroying the grip-seal section.I’ve given the pouches a quick check with a set of scales and they’re all generally slightly over the claimed weights of 20g and 100g, which probably accounts for the weight of the bag the silica is sealed into. There were a few outliers that were slightly below the claimed weight but all the bags have been within 0.1g of the expected weights, so I can’t complain. The bags are all nicely sealed and have clear labelling and warnings printed onto the surface like the stuff you see when you buy shoes etc, so it’s clear that they’re silica bags.As for the silica gel itself, it’s as good as any other silica gel, loose or sealed. I generally use a lot of silica for various sealed containers and they’ve had no bother keeping the humidity down in the camera gear boxes I tested them in. Each of the bags has a mix of plain silica and the moisture reactive stuff so it’s easy to tell if they’re saturated based on the colour, as they’ll swap from orange to a dark green once they’re wet.Recharging them is the usual process for any Silica Gel bead and the product listing gives a few examples of how to go about that. The oven and microwave recommendations are alright, though I wouldn’t suggest blasting it for 5 solid minutes in a microwave even on defrost mode. Just give them small 30-60 second bursts and check the pouches frequently to avoid superheating the beads. My only real comment or complaint is the very expensive pricing on the pouches at the current prices of £17.99 and £22.99 for the two sizes I ordered. I get that pre-made sealed pouches are going to be more expensive than the loose silica gel, but these packs work out to £44.98-£47.90 a kilo if you do the maths. Which works out to roughly three to four times the cost of my usual self-indicating silica brand that comes in 1kg buckets for £13.If you’re willing to pay the huge mark-up to get these in the various pre-sealed pouches then they’re perfectly fine, but I can’t see myself swapping over from making my own pouches from the loose beads.

Shoes and handbags tend to go a little mouldy in my wardrobe - then they smell of mildew and have to be thrown out. So I tend to keep them in shoe boxes with some sachets of silica gel, which is just enough to stop the mould. These are good sized sachets (30 x 10g) and very usefully they change colour when they have absorbed moisture - so they can then be dried in the microwave, oven or sun and then reused. This makes them good value for money, they seem well sealed and none of them have leaked any granules so far. As with all small sachets they are only useful in a small space such as a box or drawer. Note that the drying instructions are only on the Amazon listing page not with the product.

I have a ton of electronic devices and parts that I build custom electronics with and I am always conscious of the humidity in the room, as it can damage some of the more sensitive parts. I have tried larger dehumidifiers buckets but I always liked having smaller sachets right next to the parts. These are a great value considering the amount you get and the packets are made really well. I have put either one or two in each of the electronics drawers and it is more than enough to keep the draw nice and dry. These are supposed to have a color changing action to show if they are taking in moisture but mine have yet to change color, which is a good thing. For the price point, quality of the packets and the color change functionality, I give them five stars.
