These lights are not super bright. They are mostly for decorative purposes. Intend to use them for my TV wall to enhance the lighting effects. They are easy to install and deploy. The build quality is excellent.

To start these are nice tiny bright lights. I am always looking for nice small lights that produce high output for various projects and these are nice and little. They are easy enough to install by simply drilling a 1-1/2" hole and popping them in. They can be wired either *120v ac or 12v dc simply by disconnecting the driver at the jst connector. Can also be *angled if needed. I have found a few issues with the design and construction however. First, the back side of the gimbal housing is open which leaves an opening for air/insulation/dust to be able to easily penetrate the opening if installed through a wall or ceiling. The two screws holding the led gimbal do loosen up if rotated a few times. Next, I opened up the driver casing to look at the electronics and found cold solder joints on the high power input wires. There was also a few broken strands of the copper wires as they are not protected from flexing. After seeing this on one of them I opened up two more to find the exact same issue. While the rest of the solder joints appear OK the bad connections on the ac input wire is definitely a safety concern if you intend to power with ac voltage. I would replace these two wires and resolder before permanently installing these lights with the intent to utilize 120v ac to power them. As another reviewer stated installing these or any similar lights without an electrical enclosure box in any wall or ceiling is not per code and potentially dangerous anyway without the issue I noticed. These would be fine in a display cabinet or book case if repaired first. I plan on using them with 12v DC not in a wall/ceiling anyway so I am not as concerned with the driver issue even though the repair is easy enough and simply makes these more versatile if I need to power them with ac. I like the size and versatility of these lights I would just caution utilizing ac to power them without inspecting the internal connections of the drivers first.

This is a great product if you want some pinhole down lights for a movie theater or wall setting to light some pictures frames.The issue is there is no jbox to properly secure the loose wiring behind the sheetrock. Normally the transformer/jbox is one piece. However with this product there is a transformer to reduce voltage but this is a pig tail to add to the 120v side. You can't easily put that into a jbox as required by code as the pinhole is 2 inches. It requires drywall to be held in place.However it is a good product, just the install won't be to code. But if you are using this to install lighting in furniture it would be good for that.
