Sturdy but produces very fine cut. And has various options. More expensive than some but probably more substantial.

I’m really impressed with the OXO SteeL Chef's Mandoline Slicer 2.0! It’s incredibly easy and safe to use, which is a big plus if you’ve ever been intimidated by mandolines in the past. I purchased the Oxo Mandoline 2.0 after trying a couple of other devices. I wanted a tool for my kitchen that would allow me to slice fruits and vegetables of even thickness. The Oxo Mandoline 2.0 is perfect for my needs. Some may find the tool very expensive but I'd say that if you want something that is durable and elegant, you should be willing to pay more.CAUTION!The food holder of this Mandoline doesn't allow you to slice the last few centimeters of the food item. I cut my thumb badly today after I tried to slice the last few centimeters of my cucumber. If you want to use your hands to hold the food you're trying to cut, wear cut-resistant gloves.
