I absolutely love this Ortofon 2m 78 cartridge!! I never knew 78 records could sound this good!! Very happy with this product!

This cartridge is able to reproduce highly complex musical passages with excellent tracking, detail and clarity. These rare passages sound clearer than they do with the Ortofon 2M Blue, which I also own. Using the 2M Blue, these passages tend to sound more like musical hash -harder to pick out individual instruments. Here's the thing, complex musical passages, where there are a bunch of instruments playing loud and fast at the same time, with a vocalist thrown in, sound like absolute crap no matter how good the cartridge is, so this ability doesn't mean much to me. The 2M Black certainly tracks better and provides more detail and clarity than the 2M Blue, but the 2M Blue provides 95% of it (more than enough) for less than half the price. Also, the additional high-end detail of the 2M Black can be very fatiguing, coming across as too bright, depending on the recording. If you already have the 2M Blue and are looking to upgrade, I would go with the Nagaoka MP150 which offers all of the detail of the 2M Blue with a slightly fatter overall tone and more bass. The bottom line is, the Ortofon 2M Black is too expensive and should only be purchased by people with money to burn.

ずっとMMカートリッジを使ってきて、今度はMCに行こうと思ってましたが、このオルトフォンのMM最高峰の謳い文句が気になり、価格も下手なMCよりもかなり高いのですが、使っているフォノイコライザーがMM専用でMCを使うには別に昇圧トランスが必要となり、熟考の結果最後のMMとして2Mブラックを購入致しました。最近ではこの上に2MブラックLVB250と云う、ベートーベン生誕250周年記念モデルが有るが、スタイラスは同じシバタ針で、カンチレバーがオリジナルはアルミニウム、LVB250はボロン、他。依り高級な仕上げ。だが、MMの強みのスタイラス交換で簡単にアップグレードも出来、将来的にも楽しみが有ります。ブラックの前に使っていたカートリッジも国産有名メーカーのシバタ針仕様でしたが、ブラックは一聴して今まで聞いた事の無いサウンドを部屋中に展開してみせました。サウンドエリアが広大で、中域が濃く、ピンポイントに音像が現れ、まるで手を伸ばせば触れることが出来るようなリアリティ感。力強く、克つしなやかな繊細さ。このカートリッジはMM、MCの評価を越えています。ＬＶＢにアップグレードすると？コロナの影響か、ネットで調べても在庫を持っているショップが余り無いのが玉に瑕ですが、カートリッジ購入をお考えの方、一考になればと願います🙇

Ya era usuario de esta cápsula y estoy muy contento con ella, pero ya necesitaba una aguja de recambio. Al ver que la cápsula completa con todos los accesorios salía aquí al mismo precio que la aguja, decidí comprar una cápsula nueva en vez de solamente la aguja reemplazo. I upgraded from the 2M Blue and, like others, am amazed at the difference in clarity, detail and soundstage. I have not experienced any of the issues some have mentioned. Due to the increased detail it is important to clean the LPs before playing. I use a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine I have had for years, but even using a handheld vinyl brush properly should work.In short I am glad I made the right choice and upgraded!
