I like the TS side of the pedal as I get great tone and breakup. The Morning Star side seems to make more noise through my amp. I'm still working on minimizing that noise.

Sounds great can get bluesy tones with the morning star jazzy tones. I can get indie tones like the strokes from it overall I love this pedal I was never a fan of overdrives or distortion in my set up I just crank the amps louder, but this has differently changed my mind.

I find the Bluesbreaker/Morning Star emulation to be very nicely nuanced and the better of the two sides. Unfortunately, he overdrive on the Tube Steamer/Tubeman emulation can't be turned low enough for me. You can use an original Tube Steamer as a boost and a mid-focussed EQ by keeping the drive pot low, but not on the NUX, it starts overdriven and stays there. It's really too bad--maybe there's a mod out there to bring it closer to the original. Possibly good for super-high gain folks. Otherwise, the options are very well implemented on the pedal, with some tonal variation switches and you're able to put either effect first or second. It appears solidly made.

If you want a cheaper alternative to some of the other dual drive pedals out there, this is definitely worth a shot!I have the Amazon Basics green Drive pedal (an OEM NUX Tubeman) and the NUX Morning Star, which are the components of this pedal. Having it all in one enclosure, with switchable ordering and one less power plug, is a great plus.I bought this to try out when it was on sale last year and had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pedal itself and the variety of sounds I could get from it.I have expensive dual pedals from Strymon, Wampler, JHS, and others, and this one stands up to them. Is it going to pull my Strymon Sunset off my primary board? Of course not. Would I expect it to last through a rough outdoor tour? Nope! But, all that said, if you want a good pedal to learn/practice with and experiment with drive stacking, you can’t go wrong here.

This pedal had a lot going for it - beautiful build, interesting flexibility, lots of promise. Unfortunately the tone just left a bit to be desired. Its a bit honky and never really sounds dynamic or something other than a bit lifeless. The gain is pretty nice, I found the sparkle and fat modes too extreme in either instance - they also made the pedal work worse with itself. The sparkle setting sounded OK but became harsh quickly, and the fat setting just sounded sterile. I think the tone stack lopped off too much lows and openness but it seemed like what you get from digital emulation rather than analogue. The eq's sounded too brash. That said, it was close, a bit of tweaking, maybe on a V2, could make this a pretty cool pedal.
