This combo distributor and tamper is very high quality and the depth is highly adjustable with professional-looking measurement markings on both sides. I also like that it came with a rubber base to hold it on the counter and that there are no exposed threads to avoid collecting loose coffee grounds.I dropped my rating by one star since coffee grounds stick around the side of the distribution tool as it’s smaller than the 54mm portafilter. In addition, I would like it even more if the distributor side could be adjusted to be a bit more shallow and the sides had a rough edge to provide more grip.

This is a solid tool for anyone serious about their espresso. It fits my Breville portafilter perfectly and the adjustable depth is a nice touch. My shots are consistently good, and it's made my morning coffee routine smoother. Worth it for the quality and ease of use.

Took me a while to realize there were measurement (levels) on the side of the tamper and distributor, but once I figured that out it was straight forward to use. Easy to lock and adjust, and compact. Fits my 54mm Breville portafilter like a glove.

I love the simplicity and effectiveness of this product. On the one end you have a terrific distributor (which is depth adjustable) and on the other end you have a tamper (which is separately depth adjustable). Both sides have height markings so you can lock in exactly the depth you want.Heavy and heavy duty. Just feels like quality in the hand. I dumped my other hand tamper as this is simple, minimalist solution that’s very effective.

OK, I confess. I like having the "right gear" and I like products that go together. I already have a Normcore puck prep station and Normcore puck filter. So I was interested in getting the Normcore distributor tool, too.And ever since I upgraded my espresso-prep tools, I've increased my proficiency at making good espresso. I attribute it to having the Normcore prep station (which holds the portafilter in place while I do the work), the espresso puck filter (which slows down the infusion rate of my coffee to get it just right), and now the distributor tool, which smoothes out the espresso grounds evenly BEFORE tamping them. This Normcore distributor is a 2-in-1: it has a tamper on one side and a WDT on the other. And it did take me a few tries to get the WDT adjusted to the right depth, which you do by loosening the dial and adjusting the height, then tightening it in place. But once that was done, it just takes moments to get the perfect espresso puck.I'm not using the tamper that's included on this device because I already use a spring-loaded tamper. But I certainly could do most of my espresso prep with just this one Normcore tool. And I have to say -- it feels great in your hand. Heavy. Solid. And a clean-looking stainless steel and black that looks great sitting in the Normcore puck prep station. The one I got (58.5mm) fits perfectly in my 58mm espresso basket. Before I started using these Normcore prep tools, my espresso was pouring at the rate of about 18-19 seconds, when it should have taken 25-27 seconds. My coffee is now pouring through the puck at the optimum rate 25-27 seconds, making delicious coffee, and I attribute it to using these prep accessories. If you make espresso at home and you don't yet have one of these coffee distributors, what are you waiting for? This took the guesswork out of every coffee and I get great results, every time.
