Well made. I am using this as a bridge support for a zoom lens with a low clearance. Does the job.

Most matte boxes don’t need this, but it’s good insurance, particularly in handheld situations. You might need to have a spacer on your rail mounts for the bottom of the camera.

This is an good option if you typically build out your camera rig with 15mm rods. When I build out my FX-30 rig for use with my Smallrig matte box this helps support the matte box without any additional force on the front of my lens. As others have mentioned you can also use it to support additional NP-F or V Mount batteries. In my case I have also used it to hold a NP-F battery sled toward the rear of my rig which allows me to swap out NP-F batteries easily for camera, lights, microphones etc. Excellent build quality which is what I have come to expect from Neewer products.

This gadget provides good support for matte boxes, especially those heavier ones that require supports because of weight.However, I do wish that this particular supporting gadget had safety pinsOne of my matte boxes, has the appropriate 1/4" screw hole and with safety pins on the side. However, because this mount doesn't have safety pins, it isn't as secure as I'd like.With that said, it still works just as intended. The build quality is pretty standard, and the vertical adjustment option is neat. I recommend it.
