EPIC DESIGN FOR EXTERNAL PORTS, FLIPPY SCREEN, AND MOUNTS FOR ENDLESS ACCESSORIESNEEWER STATEMENT:I've had several NEEWER products in photography over the last five years, including rigs & LED lights, and I look forward to buying a cage for my Canon R3.They have everything from a photographer buying their first mirrorless camera lighting set to professional equipment that will get you through any shoot t anywhere in the world.I've owned several Canon cameras over my career, and I currently own the R3 five and just purchased a second R3.Per the statement above, when I decide to buy a cage for my camera unless they don't make it come from NEEWER.When you first put this in your hand, it weighs quite a bit in a good way, and you know it will be quality.I noticed this cage; it was the first company I'd ever seen, including a bracket for ports on the side.The reason why that's important is the port adapters that come with the camera were suitable but could have been better and often needed to be compatible with the cage itself.They give you mounting points for a NEXT strap!Many camera rigs do not do that, and it's an excellent option.Going to be running and gunning versus being stationary, one of the biggest questions everybody has about cages is whether they Fit as far as the port in the flippy screen.I'm 100% positive that the flippy screen and other accessories will work in that case.They included the Swiss plate mount.More and more companies are including the Swiss plate, but what I like about this one is the fact that it's so long That you can do everything vertically.An integrated Allen wrench and screwdriver key are laced flat on the bottom with a magnet.This is important because traditional cameras always have a D ring at the end.If you did not have the proper Allen wrench, the screwdriver would get loose, and it was tough to create torque, essentially hurting your fingers.I am thrilled today included because the last thing you need to worry about on a photo shoot podcast or if you were using this as a rig does not have these two tools on you.the number of holes, I am impressed that they have 3There are 3/8 holes in this frame.This is important because a lot of people like to run multiple accessories.4K external screenexternal battery pack,external wireless microphone, microphone wiredtripod,grips for turning this into a rig,Traditionally, I've only seen one cold shoe mount on camera cages, and you typically have to use an adapter to get a second or a third.The main accessory many people like to use is the handheld top handle and grip with grips on the side.You can use side handle grips, which turns this into an excellent running gun rig, especially for the Canon R8 and its capabilities.I just bought a Canon R8, and I'm putting this in there to run all my YouTube videos on shooting straight down as a dedicated camera.Once I'm done shooting the product video, this frees up my Canon R5 or R3 for product shoots.Overall I'm incredibly impressed with the build quality, CNC manufacturing design, and the layout of all the screws.If you're looking for a cage, you've found it for a fraction of the cost of the competition, which can be an excess of $200all the accessories you can dream ofI'll post a 30-day follow-up review.I'll be posting a 30-day supplemental review.YOUTUBE STATEMENT ABOUT REVIEWS AND PHOTOSI'm in the process of setting up my YouTube studio to create product reviews.I plan to post a video review of this product on Amazon shortly.Once the studio is ready, I will upload those videos on YouTube and share them here.I use a Canon R3 camera with various RF lenses to capture professional product shots for my clients.My experience includes commercial photography at conferences, conventions, product shoots, podcasts, motorsports, PGA, MMA, and various events in Experiential Marketing across the USA and Canada.The purpose of creating these video reviews is to help people understand the practical use of the product and how it compares to other products.This will be beneficial for both Amazon and YouTube reviews.TM

This is a nice cage for EOS R8. It has all the features and enough threaded screws to attach accessories, handles and such. There are two hot show mounts on the top on each side. Like the power cable secure clamps. Now have to add more accessories to make it usable. The build quality is good and light weight. A great base cage to build on.

No surprise that the quality of this R8 Camera cage from Neewer is excellent. Indeed this has all the refinement and detail I have come to expect from them.This cage will accommodate all the usual accessories associated with camera cages and more. It has an Arca-type base and a NATO rail in addition to a couple of cold shoes. There is plenty of thread mounts in both 1/4 inch and 3/8 sizes along with all the necessary pin holes for top handles, side handles, etc. It has a detachable cable clamp and anti-twist clamps. A two-in-one magnetic screwdriver is included that is attached to the base.An accomplished well-constructed quality product that of course deserves all five stars in my opinion.
