As a trail runner, I've tried various brands of vests. Whether in races or training, a well-fitting vest is crucial for completing an outdoor run. I chose the size SM, which fits me perfectly. There's a palm's width of space in the front, and I can adjust the tightness with the adjustment straps. This 4L capacity is suitable for trail races up to 100KM. This vest, both in appearance and feel, inspires confidence. It's lightweight and elastic. It has good breathability, and the seams and overlock stitching are meticulously done. Moreover, the Nathan brand gives me confidence in its quality. I believe it doesn't use any materials harmful to the body. It comes with two soft flasks, which are essential for outdoor sports. It has side pockets that can hold my phone and energy gels. The chest compression straps are very convenient and don't loosen after tightening, which is important. I've encountered vests in previous activities where the chest straps wouldn't lock tightly and would sometimes loosen, affecting my running performance. This vest doesn't have that problem. I highly recommend this 4L vest, which can meet the needs of various trail running scenarios. Highly recommended!

Well, one thing's for sure. This hydration vest would be especially cool to give as a gift to someone whose name is Nathan, right? Lol! But anyway, this thing seems to be really well made, with a well thought out design.A strap on each side can be adjusted. And then there's the three adjustable pieces that go across the chest area. All of them stay put really good too, once you have them adjusted to how you like them. It also comes with two 14 ounce soft flasks with extended straws. And they too, seem to be pretty well made. There's a fairly large compartment in the back that looks like it's for another water container that would be made just for a hydration vest like this. However, I find very little information regarding the compartment in the back. But that has actually led to my discovery of what might be my favorite thing about this vest. You see, I went to the Nathan's Amazon store, clicked on "more," and then clicked on "bladders." And it was there that I found a 1.6 liter INSULATED hydration bladder, that would most probably fit in the back of this hydration vest. It says that it can keep water colder for 38% longer, and it's the type of thing that I've been trying to find for quite some time now. Living down here where it gets REALLY hot, water that's inside of a regular bladder, not only loses it's coldness quickly, but it also becomes hot after only a short period of time.So I will definitely be checking out that bladder. With a price of $48.55 though (at the time of this review), it is the most expensive of all of the bladders that the Nathan brand offers. But I think it will be well worth it. I just hope to see the insulated bladders improve even more in the future. The largest bladder that I saw in their Amazon store had a capacity of 2 liters. And while I'm not 100% sure that it will fit in this hydration vest, I believe that it will. Since the information given about this vest says that it has a capacity of 4 liters. There is also a hook in the back of this vest at the top, which is what I assume is for hanging these bladders on.I am very pleased with this hydration vest, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is considering getting one. I know it's rather pricey, but if you want something that is going to last, that you are really going to like, then it's worth it in my opinion.

I really love this brand and am once again so impressed with the quality of their products. This product is exceptional quality but also at a premium brand price point. Due this great track record of being impressed, I have already recommended this brand to my athlete friends. For context:For sizing, I am 5'3" with 38" chest/30" waist and Size S-M fit well. I am larger up top, larger chest with broad swimmer shoulders. (I'm one who easily gets annoyed with gear while running, so if I recommend something for running, that says a lot!) ;)I am a triathlete who wanted a backpack and hydration option other than a fuel belt while running (road and trails) and carrying water bottles on bike. This hydration backpack is a little more compact and lightweight than my daypack hydration backpack, and i love it! I love the smaller bottles up front (that are included), but also has additional capacity in the back for light gear or another hydration bladder (not included).PROs:- Product design/functionality -The number of details are impressive. To list a few: all the zippers, reflective parts, three straps across chest for optimal fit, compartment/pocket dividers- Breathable - close up pictures show mesh-like material that looks durable but breathable- Quality - the fabric is so nice! The buckles and zippers are strong.-Chest Straps - The straps across top are thinner than I am used to but open minded to it since there are three. I like this design as they are easy to adjust around curves in chest and more breathable than larger straps/buckles. I hope they are durable!- Lightweight - With this, it is compact so have realistic expectations on what you want to carry in here (especially if you have added and additional bladder in the back). No issues packing the necessities of ID, phone and fuel.- Functionality - It offers multiple options for different hydration needs. Easy access to fuel, phone, etc.- Color options are nice - blue to be more visible, or charcoal to be more subtle, depending on your needs.CONs:- It is a bigger brand so more of a premium (and earned) price point.Summary:I have multiple hydration products from this company (fuel belt, handheld and this hydration vest) and I am once again thrilled with their product I will update this review should anything come up with durability! If no update, you can assume that I am still very happy with this product and would definitely recommend if you are looking for a lightweight, compact backpack with hydration option. In fact, I already have recommended this to my athlete friends (trail runners and hikers)!I hope that this review has helped you with your decision. :)

I run marathons and am a big believer in proper hydration. In fact, I normally carry a handheld water bottle on any run of any length -- including a 3 or 4 miler. For longer runs, I typically need to find somewhere to fill up.I had seen hydration vests like this at a fall marathon expo and was about to pull the trigger, but figured a marathon was not the best way to test this out. So now that I'm in mid-season training, I figured I'd pick one up and try it out and get used to it.My impressions have been very positive. First of all, I got the medium. I'm a 6 foot, 165 lb guy with a slighter upper body build. This was absolutely he right size for me. There are a number of adjustment straps, both on the side and the front, to cinch it down in a secure way. I just ran 12 miles with it and it felt very stable and not bouncy, even fully loaded.Speaking of which, the two collapsible bottles were full, I stuffed my iPhone 16 Pro Max into the pocket under one of the bottles (it BARELY fit, but it did) and added a couple of gel packs in the open pockets in front of the bottles. There is also a pocket on the back for a water bladder, but I didn't use that and I suspect things would slide around in there annoyingly if you tried to use it as a pocket.I wasn't sure if I would like the water bottles, but I really did. When they are full, they easily slide into their pockets and secure in place with little bungies. Then the elongated straws fit through little loops higher up on the vest to keep from flopping around. I found that it was pretty easy to drink on the fly using the bite valves and since the bottles are collapsible, you don't need to tilt them at all -- you just suck out the water and the bottle shrinks down to accommodate the removed fluid. The straws aren't so long that it doesn't take a bit of effort to tilt your head (slightly uncomfortably), but for quick sips, it's great.By the way, regarding those bottles, I'm not 100% sure how best to clean them. It says no dishwasher, but it'll be a bit tricky to get everything cleaned well. I'll probably need to a get a bottle brush. I generally only drink water through them, so at least there's not sticky, sugary stuff. But just something to keep in mind. I'm not sure any way around it.So overall, I'm really satisfied with this and I think it's going to be a really good addition to my repertoire as the long runs ramp up and the heat and humidity rises in the summer. Great product.

I've been using the same Nathan running vest for about 12 years now. It's still going strong, despite regular use and machine washing (line dry), but now that I'm no longer doing long races, I wanted something with easier access to water than my back bladder. That vest didn't fit anything over a 12 oz bottle, so I decided to upgrade to this one.Overall, I LOVE the Pinnacle Breeze 4L Hydration Vest. I wear a size M in women’s tops and a 36B bra, so I ordered the S/M and it fits perfectly. The vest could easily adjust quite a bit smaller or larger and still fit well. The vest is lightweight, doesn't make me hotter on hot and muggy days like today, and it's easy to adjust on the fly. My other vest had thicker straps and the type of clips that snap together, so I was afraid this style with the string-like straps and hooks wouldn't hold the vest in place, but it does an even better job. Once adjusted, the vest doesn't move and the straps don't budge at all.The front bladder bottles work extremely well, are leak proof even on their sides, and they provide the right amount of water for my 30-60 minute runs. They drain fully, so there’s no valuable water left behind (and compress, as shown in one of my pictures), and the position of the bite valves is perfect for me to use while running. No more stopping to tug my squeeze bottles free. The bottles also stay firmly in place thanks to built-in elastics that fit around their necks and straps that hold the straws in place. Be careful about removing the bottles when full, though, since it can be easy to press the bite valve when trying to remove the straw from those straps. I’ve gotten splashed a few times that way.Surprisingly, the large zipper pocket fits my S22 Ultra with a Pop Socket and Otterbox Commuter Case. That's the first time that's happened. I do wish it was a little bigger though, as a full water bottle presses the phone into me. To make it comfortable, I have to remove the Pop and fill the bottle only halfway. I might get used to the feel of it without taking those extra steps after a while, particularly if I drain that bottle first, but I’m not there yet. There’s only one other thing I’d like to see on this vest to make it perfect–additional zipper pockets. The single zipper pouch is spacious, but nothing fits alongside my phone, and the two large, open pockets are nice, but I can’t stow my keys or inhaler in them without risking losing them along my route. I’d rather not get back to my car to discover I’m stranded, and I certainly don’t want to reach for my inhaler and find that it bounced out. I’ll have to find a pouch that I can clip into a pocket somehow, but it would certainly be easier if Nathan had made one of those pouches closeable.Still, even with those two negatives, this vest is one of the best I’ve used. I’d get it again in a heartbeat.
