It was a little pricey, and its not as rigid or thick walled as you would hope for but it does the job. Keeps sensitive electronics dry outside, so can't complain there. I wish there were knockouts and the latches aren't fantastic. It warped a little from the install, which makes closing it a challenge. there are four screws which are useful to ensure it stays water tight, but also make it a pain to access anything inside. But overall it works.

I use enclosures like this in my video surveillance business. The one I tested was the F-16 (16.5" x 12.6" x 6.1") This checks most of the boxes but doesn't quite get there for me. To be fair, it's a decent enclosure and the price is excellent. Overall it's pretty rugged. The case itself is pretty rugged. The cover is hinged on one side and has clasps on the opposite side. The hinge and clasps are plastic. Stainless latches would have been preferable. These seem to lock down pretty tight but the clasp seems like a weak point. It would be a shame to have one break after installing. That would negate any cost savings. While simply latching appears to be enough the box also come with four screws and four blank plugs (all plastic) that fit the holes on the cover. Basically three choices for closing the lid - 1.) just latch and leave it, 2.) install the blank plugs, or 3.) use the screws. I don't think the latching is improved any by the screws and the plugs are more aesthetic since the holes are outside of the gasket area. The hardware for mounting the enclosure itself is very undersized and I would throw those away and use something more heavy duty. The internal mounting plate is excellent. All painted metal (I would guess the paint is powder coat) with a handy shelf that is easily removed or relocated without removing the base plate. Plenty of slots and holes on both the plate and the shelf to allow fastening components to them. There is no mention of any specific NEMA rating regarding weatherproofing. The o-ring is smaller than what I'm used to seeing in a box like this. On the plus side it's set below flush in a slot in the cover and the case has an interlocking raised ridge. Interesting design and could be very effective. One reviewer mentioned that there was a small gap in the o-ring where the two ends met and that gap was at the top of the unit. I agree that would be a problem but my enclosure had almost no gap and it was on the bottom of the case where is should be. I am going to test this enclosure outside prior to putting any electronics inside it. I will edit the review if there are any issues. The vents look like they should work well to prevent water intrusion under normal circumstances. The plastic screen is a nice touch to keep insects out of the enclosure. I do with the screw pattern for the vents was square rather than rectangular and preferably a standard size so a fan or fans could be added to help with cooling.Overall it's a great enclosure and depending on your use I would recommend it. It's about 90% of the way to be acceptable for professional use but not quite there.

Comes with wall mounting hardware and back plate for attaching equipment. The only thing is the case does have some flex at this large size, so i had to reinforce the seal on the top and bottom edges with large binder clips. It is very easy to cut and drill, maybe too much. It would have been nice for a bit more reinforcement especially at this size.

I picked up Namunanee 16.5" box to mount on a wall in my garage as a central hub for the house's wired network routers and wiring. It provides a professional-looking housing for the components and is so much cleaner than the Frankenstein solution I had before. The box material is very durable and, as it is designed for outdoor use, is constructed to prevent water seepage while providing protected ventage for air circulation.Two critical thoughts:- The box provides no knockouts, so I had to drill my own. Fortunately, the material is easy to drill, so not a big deal - and actually enables me to choose specific entry and exit points.- The fastening clamps for securing the door are a bit finicky. They door has to be tightly closed for the fasteners to securely clasps into place. Not a big issue, but I'm used to toolboxes, etc., easily clamping into place. I don't plan on opening the box often, so this small shortcoming will not be something I think about much.Given the heavy-duty construction and thoughtful design for waterproofing and air circulation, I think this is a fair value, middle-of-the-pack junction box, in terms of price.

I'm the guy to whom everyone always says, "You're the reason we can't have anything Nice!" So I usually canabalize something, build it out of wood, or weld it up myself. Keeps me from having to listen to them nay sayers, and it's nice enough for me. Well, I've been spending all my milk money for quite some time now building a 2600 watt 48 volt solar system and I'll be dog-gone if I'm not putting it in something nice! Yeah buddy, enter the Namunanee Outdoor Waterproof Electrical Box; She's a beauty.Mine is the F-16: 16.5"H x 12.6"L x 6.1"W white ABS box with a side hinged door. There is a groove cut at about 1/8” in from the outside perimeter of the door - it has what looks to be an elastomeric gasket insert. That gasket kisses an 1/8” wide by 1/8” tall lip to form a water tight seal when the door is closed and latched. The gray latches look nice, are well made, and let out a nice solid snap when closed. There are 4 vents – 2 on each side – and the vents are hooded with the same contrasting gray plastic as the latches. Inside the box is a steel plate with pre-drilled holes for mounting din rails, breakers, bus bars, and etc... There's a nice shelf inside the box also - mine is coming out. There are no pre-drilled knock outs in the box – Awesome. Who needs 'um, I've got drills and the right size cable glands for all wires that'll be gracing the shell of my electric box.Right now she's sitting with some of the stuff that will find residence inside her. I haven't put her together - don't even know how I'm going to do it just yet. We got a date this weekend. If we're short on space - we'll get another Namunanee.
