This works well… just plug it in, open the app on your phone, and instantly get info about your vehicle… i had a check engine light on my dash come on, and this not only told me what was the fault, but it let me turn it off too… hasn’t come back on for two months now since i got it….

This scanner works as advertised. Very basic but does the job.

The DiverScan Bluetooth OBD2 Bi-Directional Scanner by MUCAR, is a super helpful, good quality tool to assist any car owner asses what’s going on, so they can determine the next step. Let’s take a closer look at what may or may not make this a good choice for your situation.I. Quality – This is a good quality OBD2 plug-in that looks and feels like it’s made well. It doesn’t make me question its longevity.II. Performance – This is a solid mid-level diagnostic tool that can do all the simple things with ease and even offers a higher level of diagnostic digging then many others. It’s designed to make it very easy to reset 15 common maintenance lights, making its so simple for at home maintenance. Its compatible with many makes and models to accommodate all the cars at your house. It’ll dig down somewhat deeply into the diagnoses world, but only about mid deep compared to the high end scanners. However, its quick and easy to use for all the things it can do. It is also great for live monitoring of data that can be very helpful in diagnosing or tuning. It seems that you get a better performing tool then most for this price if they have a screen, you just have to be willing to use the app and your cell phone instead.Overall, this is a great tool that provides a lot of value if you’re looking for diagnoses help or warning light resets and is capable of much more. It’s provides more depth than most people would even venture to go at home. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

I struggled with this mess getting increasingly annoyed as I went. I downloaded the app and then started it up. It demanded my email address and then, incredibly, it started a 60 second timer giving me now less than a minute to pick up the email it so rudely sent and enter the secret code somewhere in that email. I managed to do it with about 3 seconds to spare. At that point I was so angry at the DEMAND I enter my email and the bizarre 1 minute timer that I put it aside for about a month.****1 Month laterOK, I started it again with the dongle plugged into an OBD 2 port. This time it whined that I needed to activate it (WTF?) by entering a number found on the tiny piece of paper that came with the miserable thing. A bit of a search later and I found the paper. It lied. There are two alphanumerical series to enter. Rather than stomp the dongle do death – my first choice – I persisted. However, the app or something skipped or did something or other. The tiny setup manual said after ‘activation’ (which I just did) the app should offer me a download page to acquire the software for my brand of car/truck (Toyota). It didn’t. I found no way to get this download. So off I went with the dongle attached to my year 2000 Toyota Tacoma to see if it’d figure it out. It didn’t. Trying a few tests, the thing wasn’t able to discern the VIN and bizarrely identified the 6 cylinder 3.4 liter engine as 4 cylinder 2.5 liters. Please see one of the images for this reading. I’m laid low that this thing can’t find the VIN and do its own download.I find this a time consuming piece of junk not worth even another 60 seconds of my life.

This is my third OBD II scanner and by far the best and most advanced I’ve ever seen.My first scanner showed only the standard error code numbers that had to be looked up in a book.My second scanner had the error code descriptions built in, but it only covered standard OBD codes. There was no ability to see specific information for other systems in the carThis scanner relies upon a connected app for the user interface and the difference is amazing. In addition to standard OBD codes, it does real time data recording as well as performing a vehicle specific heath report of all systems that are readable. (See pic)What I like…- Extensive model coverage for vehicle-specific systems. It read the VIN of my Kia and automatically downloaded the specifics needed to read the systems for a Health Report. The report ran automatically while the app/scanner spoke each test as it ran. It did this through the car stereo system. (Which was connected to my phone by Apple CarPlay.)- Ability to select which, or select all, values to read for real-time data monitoring. Most values can be graphed just by clicking on the value. (See pic)- Reports can be saved and recalled in the app- No in-app purchase that I saw. It did all the above out of the box with no extra fees.Shortcomings…- Setting up the app requires entering an email address and granting location services (iPhone). The verification emails with a verification code were not sent in time before the entry box timed out. Luckily it still accepted it.The box contained the plug-in module and a user guide. (See pic) Nothing else is required. To use…1. Download and install the app by scanning a QR code in the manual.2. Set up your account in the app.3. Connect the module to the OBD port in the car and turn on ignition. If you don’t know the port location in your car, there is a guide in the app based on make/model/year of the car.4. Scan the module serial number QR and enter the app authorization code (both found on the manual). The app connected instantly to the module. From there, select the report to run. Future uses do not require setting up again, simply connect to the module. This is a great tool for DIY car troubleshooting and status. It would make an excellent and thoughtful gift. I hope this information was helpful to you.——-This review is for:MUCAR DiverScan Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner, Bi-Directional Scanner OBDII All System Vehicle Diagnostic Tool with 15 Reset, Car Code Readers & Auto Diagnostic Scan Tool for iPhone & Android
