Was trying to use this with a PC at 4K 120hz and PS5. Really wasn’t consistent enough with the PC signal and constantly flashed black. Got it working for a bit without the flashing but eventually degraded

I bought this _specifically_ to do EDID cloning and HDMI 2.1 passthrough so I could turn my OLED off without having Windows forget everything about my windows. You'll want to make sure you're on passthrough mode, not splitter mode, which requires the (included) remote - splitting 4k120 content causes the device to overheat and glitch out even if the second output is empty.I've had occasional invalid format / no signal issues - once every two or three days - all of which were resolved by briefly unplugging the TV (for invalid format) or the PC (for no signal).I wish there was a simpler/passive device that did HDMI 2.1, but since there isn't, quite happy with the $40 it took to solve this problem. I have to take a star off since the splitter feature doesn't...work, and I would have preferred something other than DIP switches to configure EDID (cloning worked with no drama, so I'm sticking to that for now).

As with my previous monoprice devices, this works exactly as advertised. I had a previous splitter from them, and it worked great, but didn't support the higher resolutions. This one supports the 4k120 that I was looking for, and also does a better job than my previous splitter, of identifying my monitor to the device using it.I saw the other review stating it overheats, which had me a bit concerned. I've had it a few days now, and it doesn't seem to even heat up. Maybe the other reviewer received a defective item? I'm running 4k and splitting between my monitor and an elgato 4k capture card.

This product overheats after a short period of time causing black screen cutouts. It works but just isn’t too efficient and will cutout after thirty minutes of viewing something using the splitter functionality.It’s a don’t buy especially considering there are no refunds on this item. Just don’t risk it.
