I used this with a Chamberlain belt-driven garage door opener from 2012 (WD962KEV) which has the Security+ 2.0 implementation (the round yellow learn button). Because the open/close signal from this unit is a simple momentary close of a relay in the unit that is not compatible with the coded signal on the wire into the garage door opener. I needed to buy, disassemble, and wire-in an adapter, described later. That small ($11) problem aside the unit behaves as expected. I can open and close my garage door AND have confirmation of whether the garage door is open or closed. In my case the unit is integrated with my home automation (50+ devices, pumps, light switches) and in comparison with other 'Smart Life' devices it has a more sensitive WiFi function so even though my garage is at the edge of the 2.4GHz WiFi network I have reserved for home automation it reports a strong signal. Very happy about that.As of May 2023 the user interface is riddled with spelling mistakes, strange grammar, and unconventional language. That doesn't affect operation but it grates somewhat. I hope an update will correct that. The door open/closed sensor is realized with a magnet which moves with the door and a fixed sensor which connects to the unit with a long wire. More than twice as much wire as the travel of a door but I came up with a better solution. My door opener uses a toothed belt to pull the traveler along the rail and I decided to zip-tie the magnet half of the door sensor to the belt, see picture. I was then able to fix the sensor to the top of my door opener (see picture) such that when the door is closed the sensor pair is close enough to trigger, and as the door opens the magnet separates from the sensor and is pulled towards the door as it rises. This works extremely well and saves my running the wire along the roof of the garage where it may sag or one day tangle with something it should not.I mentioned the incompatibility of the simple momentary close of the relay in the unit and the necessary coded signal expected by the garage door opener. I used the circuit board inside a $10.99, May 2023, Liftmaster 883LMW switch as an adapter. I soldered the red/black wires from the relay inside the MOES unit to the pins of the momentary closed push button on the 883LMW circuit board, and soldered a pair of wires from the regular output of the switch to connect into the garage door opened in parallel with the regular control wire from my wall switch. It took two or three operations to synchronize security codes but after that it has been bomb proof. The circuit board measures about 3/8" x 2" and for now it is supported by the stiffness of the wires. I may put it into a small box or wrap it in tape and zip-tie it more securely somewhere later.Overall, I would recommend this item as an inexpensive way to add remote control an visibility to your garage door. Because the Smart Life ecosystem doesn't need an automation hub and is clever enough to travers your home router you can use the garage door from anywhere in the world with network access. It integrates with either (both?) Google and Alexa voice assistants and their routines so I may decide to set up to open my garage door when my cellphone approaches my home. I know it has already invited me to integrate with Amazon's secure delivery service whereby Amazon delivery people can use the door to put packages inside my garage rather than on my step. I have not suffered from Porch Piracy but it is good to know the option is there.

I purchased the MOES device 7/13 because I originally purchased a Momentum Niro Garage Door Controller in August, 2018 to operate my door remotely, and to monitor the inside of the garage. It had worked perfectly up until May 4, 2020 when the developer of the Momentum App forced an update on everyone (see attached screenshot). It is now July 19, and there is still no fix for the Momentum App issue of the door not opening or closing, and the camera sometimes makes it impossible to view the video and/or photos. Rolling back to a previous version of the Momentum software is impossible since the developer has coded the app to only accept the current version (V 1.15.0, which is broken). Therefore, I looked for a device that was not expensive that would open and close the garage door and found the MOES WiFi Smart Garage Door Opener Controller.Installation was a breeze, although I am techie. I did review the instructions afterward, and I believe they are easy enough to follow. There is also online videos to show how to install this device if you have difficulty. You may want to review them before purchasing to see just how easy it is to install & use the MOES WiFi Smart Garage Door Opener Controller.I also appreciate that this device easily integrated with my Amazon Alexa devices, as well as Siri and IFTTT. If installed correctly, the app does let you know the status of your door (i.e., open or closed), and I have set alarm notifications to keep me updated as to the status of the door (open or closed).Even if Momentum does get around to fixing the Momentum app to open & close my door, this MOES device is cheap insurance to make sure I have a backup opener and closer. I am VERY PLEASED!!UPDATE (7/21/2020): Momentum has repaired their App, and it now does operate my garage door. However, like I said above, I am please to know that I have the MOES WiFi Smart Garage Door Opener Controller installed as insurance incase Momentum forces another app update upon us that breaks. Further, MOES integrates with my other smart devices (e.g., Alexa, Siri), so it is a great addition.

Tested extensively - so far so good.Install was simple, cables are just right length and size, but agree with one of the reviewers - give us more cable clips and save a trip to Home Depo. I've used 12, where only 4 were included in the box.Integration with Google Assistant was flawless. Have to admit that manual is out of date. If you struggle, follow these steps:1. add device in Smart Life as "Smart Garage Door Opener" in "Electrician" section (as of today)2. test it if it works as expected in smart life before moving to the next step3. if this is your first Smart Life device, follow steps in the manual to register with Google and you will be fine.If this is NOT THE FIRST device, you need to force-sync it with Google. Simply say - "Hey Google, sync Smart Life Devices" and it will show up in your Google Home Device list instantaneously. Re-sync every time you make changes in Smart Life app.5. Add new device to your Google Home, and assign location in your householdNow you can ask Google "Open/Close Garage door", "Is garage door closed?"If you wish to use different commands, say - "Hey, Google, Let me in!" and play march full volume while you driving in on your MAX, - go and configure custom routines via Google Assistant settings, - possibilities are endless.Last thing - it does NOT trigger opening on power loss/cycling, which is really good, and is a problem with many other smart openers.Overall - well done!

I purchased this for my Granny after she broke her ankle. I fixed her up with some echo dots and integrated this with them so she could open and close the garage to let family in simply by saying, “Alexa, open/close the garage.”The instructions weren’t great, but I managed. The device that communicates with the opener was a pinch to install, but the sensors to detect if the door is open or closed were a bit trickier. We also had a little hiccup with the sensor once (Alexa told us the door was closed when it was open), but I haven’t heard it has been an ongoing problem.

Did not work with my model even though documents said it would work will all Genie models. I do have remote with a rotating code, and a multi function wall switch, which should have been clearly stated on Amazon that this will not work on openers with those criteria.I assumed, if for some reason it didn't work, as advertised on Amazon, a " Self-learning Remote Adapter" is available. So, I installed thinking worst case I can order the adapter. When trying to order the adapter the Amazon website says you need to order directly through MOES. MOES website says you need to order through Amazon. So, instead, I ordered the Chamberlain MYQ-60301, and I'm returning this MOES model. MYQ lists as compatible with my model Genie, is comparable in price, and is a much simpler installation.
