Wanted to pick up a collapsable fishing rod to keep in the truck......cause you never know. This thing is great! Its a little kit that comes with everything youd need for a couple of quick casts in a surprise juicy piece of water you just cant pass up. It comes with everything you see....you might want to pick up a couple rooster tails to throw in the bag.....maybe some better soft plastics, but you dont HAVE TO....these will catch fish.

For the negatives, most of the items are fairly cheapy type of things, including The Barbers that don't even have holes in the top but they do have a spot for that.For the positives, the best part to me is the very compact pole that extends out further than my other telescoping Pole, and it is where the real value is for me. Seems like it could be a tiny bit on the stiff side for 4 lb test line which I'm going to use. The reel pockets on the fishing pole have a push click ratchet tightening system. Also the line actually seems decent on the reel that does make a bit of noise. So far the telescoping pole seems to extend easily and not get locked into position with certain sections to make it easy to telescope back compact again. Even has a little rubber cover for the tip I let that is very useful and I wish was built a little better because I would use this longer than I see it lasting.

Quality fishing set for travel or beginners. Includes a collapsible rod, a reel (with line on it already), an extra line, a bait and lure kit, floats, and a nice carry bag. The bag has an external pocket as well as some built-in straps inside to secure the rod in the larger pocket. There is a ton of space, so you can easily augment this set with other items you have. The rod is easy to expand and collapse and seems to be strong enough for casual or survival fishing. The reel is smooth and releases easily. The lure and bait set is pretty basic but has multiple options and the floats are basic. All in all this is a fantastic set to start with and add other items to for your travel, emergency, or beginner fishing needs. Highly recommended.

This fishing pole definitely is good for beginners and it would be a great place to start for younger anglers. What I liked is how the whole kit is perfect if you are going on vacation and don't want to drag all your personal fishing items with you. Everything is in the case so you can get to the lake!The rod and the crank of the reel easily fits into your hand because of the size. The fishing pole is very sturdy and balanced with the reel attached. Easy to put together, the pole collapses to put back into the case and when you are ready to fish, the pole pulls out to lock into place quickly. The reel also has a five to one ratio to bring in the line smooth and faster to reel in after the first bite. The reason I feel this fishing kit is great and it includes fishing line, bubbles and a few hooks to get started. Which is perfect for a beginner who wants to start fishing.

As long as you have managed expectations, this is a great kit. The line tangles easily and some of the components were not that great. But the rod extends nicely and seems to reel alright, although I must admit that we haven’t caught anything yet. My son has the patience of a lightning bolt.The pole collapses cleanly and the handle on the reel tucks away nicely to keep things tidy in the bag. Honestly, I think a spincast reel would have been a better option for children, but I love that my kid can just run and grab his pole when it’s time to fish.All-in-all, I think it’s a great value and works well for kids who mostly just want to participate anyways. I might also consider it a great option in a survival or hiking bag. It really does pack up nicely. While it’s not my best rod by any means, it’ll get the job done.
