I bought this ricer to use as a squeeze tool for squeezing the liquid out of vegetables to use when I make egg rolls, pickled daikon and carrots, and other foods that need squeezing (canned tuna!). It works great for both applications as you can really get a lot downward compression on the food inside it to really remove the water from veggies for egg rolls. I don’t have much upper body strength and always found the squeezing by hand process to be annoying and painful on my neck and fingers, and using this ricer is very, very helpful and makes it much easier and more thorough to remove the excess water from blanched or softened veggies😃😃. Making egg rolls and pickled veggies is much for pleasurable and quicker for me now thanks to this ricer.

..............because there was a slight dent on the upper lip of unit but in no way did it hamper performance. But anyway...............I have never used a ricer before and don't know how I ever did with out one. .The silicone handle inserts are great and overall fit & finish on the unit is good....I boiled up about 3lbs of new taters (redskin) and I did skin my taters and it made short change of the taters in no time and the most creamiest smoothest mashed I've ever had.Don't know about any others brands but this thing was built well and very affordable. It was very EZ to use . I was looking at silicone coated mashers as I have induction top and use only enamel cast iron. This unit was 4 $'s more than the hand held mashers so I said what the heck and it was the right choice. No lumps what so ever ..super creamy !!.I made my riced taters on the smallest hole insert and had no problem compressing the unit, and it worked flawlessly .I cut my taters in 1/2 and placed about a whole taters worth in it and no problems at all Get one & if / when it breaks buy another but you would have to mistreat it or use it a few 1000 times !! ..I washed it in the sink with a nylon scrub brush and let it dry on a rack. There are some semi sharp edges on the inserts but just be aware and yu wont have any problems. Kudos to vendor for selling a decent unit at a affordable price !!

I have always wanted one of these items and O plan on challenging my wife to a mash off when we need a larger amount of potatoes. The Mindful Design Large 15oz Potato Ricer actually comes with three different filters that you can determine the fineness of your mash. I did not notice that on the listing. The key is making sure your vegetables are cooked. It they are not cooked through. This cleans easily as long as you clean once finished. The was some discoloration from some burning of a couple of welds, but that does nothing to affect the performance.I wish it had a larger capacity, but this size insures most people can use it easily.Rice away!

This potato masher is pretty cool. I usually just use the hand stamp masher. This one you just put the cooked potatoes in and squeeze it down. Super easy and works like a charm.
