I really like this product. It looks great when installed. The product includes a metal mounting bracket which is so much better than buying a plastic bracket from one of the big box stores. The metal tabs on the bracket keep the media plate firm in place. I had purchased one similar from another company and returned it because it was so lose once I installed it. So I definitely recommend this product. Also, I was missing a few screws when I received the plate and I emailed customer support. I heard back the same day from Tim, one of their customer support specialists. He gladly sent me the missing screws, and I received them in two days! I’m really happy with this company. I have since ordered another wall plate for my exterior speakers and no issues to report. Trust me, if you don’t have a low voltage gang box mounted to a stud in your wall, you will need this product. The metal bracket makes the difference! Thanks for the great customer support!

Very well-made plate. The sockets are deep enough to accommodate banana plugs from both sides without them pushing each other out. Was easy to install. Totally satisfied and highly recommended.

Very handy. This one is set for 7.2 output. So it supports 7 speakers and 2 subs.I have a 6.1 surround sound processor. So my receiver has 6 regular speakers, plus 1 sub. 6.1 is a center, a front left, a front right, 2 surround sides, 1 rear, plus 1 sub.I went with this because it was a good price and gave the option for expansion to 7.2 later. It's only one more ceiling/wall speaker and 1 more sub. I figured I can pick which speaker to use now, or I could have the wire run and installation later would be easy. Once your in the mode of running the wire, it's not hard to fish another one along with it.I think this is a good way to go even if you only have 5.1 unless you know you won't want to expand and use the other speaker options.

I'm building a new home. I am putting my TV above my fireplace, which is ventless gas logs inside a firebox. The rest of the fireplace is wood studs and sheet rock from floor to ceiling. I had a niche or a box built into the side of the fireplace to hide my media equipment. I ran all the wires inside the fireplace to the back of the TV and up through the ceiling to the speakers. I knew that it was going to be tight quaters working inside the box hooking up all the connections. This wallplate and banana plugs looked like a good solution. I bought the Sewell deadbolt banana plugs that Amazon recommended as a purchase together item with plans to use them on both sides of the wallplate. I put the banana plugs on all the speaker wires inside the wall and plugged the into the back of the wallplate and mounted the wallplate in a low voltage box. I decided to hook up my reciever and text things out before I installed the firebox and sealed up the fireplace. I noticed that when I plugged in the banana plugs from the receiver, they were hard to plug in. Luckily, I had to crawl back into the fireplace and i noticed that the banana plugs on the back of the wallplate had been partially pushed out by the plugs on the other side. The plugs were still making a connection, but they weren't completely seated in the wall plate. I'm now looking for an alternative connector to use for one side of the wallplate. It should be noted that you cannot use banana plugs on both sides of the wallplate.Just like another reviewer, I got the impression from the description that banana plugs came with the wallplate.Over all, I'm pleased with the quality of the product.
