Cheaply made springs don’t hold up

Was hopeful this was a good quality product. Steel construction, feels like something you would find in grandads shop. Pulled the cable out and it was set very stiff. I tried to dial the tension back and zap, the spring inside let loose and now wont retract. Like another review, i dont feel like tearing it apart to trouble shoot and fix it so im just returning them.

This looked good at first but after a few retractions it hung up at full length and would never reset. I am not willing to expend a lot of energy troubleshooting something that will fail so quickly and that completely. I understand about premature failures and accept that I drew the short straw this time. The vendor was very nice and gave me a full refund quickly.

For hanging charging hose for Electric plug for car so that it is out of way when not in use. Works perfectly.
