Sewed bands of metal thread across finger tips to be able to use my cell phone with gloves on. I'll be sewing my ski gloves and walking gloves too.

I used the conductive thread on hand knitted mittens. I worked duplicate stitch making sure I worked completely through the fabric to the inside. Then I worked the ends back and forth through the stitches on the inside to give more contact on the inside.It took me two tries to get the right spot on the finger and thumb so don’t give up. First time I did a smaller area and then made it larger with the second try (I didn’t remove the original stitching just left them in.)The thread is a little stiffer than regular thread but you don’t notice it once it is stitched in. I don’t find it at all rough.Of course it doesn’t work as well as your bare fingers but when it’s cold I can leave my mitts on and take photos and make phone calls.

Pleasantly surprised to find it works. We used this thread on the fingertips of our winter gloves and can now use our cellphones while wearing gloves.

Never used conductive thread before so it could be normal for it to have this rough texture but the title did have me thinking that it would be more like a thick metal thread. The fibers are not really wound together causing small broken fibers to stick out along it and giving it a very scratchy feeling to the touch. I used it to make it so I can use my smart phone with gloves on and it does work for that.

I have seen reviews on Conductive Thread not working. The thread works. The only way it wouldn't work is if the thread was not sewn properly on your glove finger. Your finger must interact with the thread for the electrical charge emanating from your finger to work on your phone and/or other devices. So when you sew the thread to your glove finger make sure it's where your finger interacts with the thread.
