the collar does screw on to the connecting collar https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08C9Q1WHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1but then can easily pull off the yellow cover.also, the weatherproof cover does not fit well with the locking plug. it is to small, maybe you can add some petroleum jelly before trying, but it may not come off again.Will put in my camper junk drawer for now.

I was disappointed that I could not return this item as it was 48 hours past the return date. Update, Amazon came through with flying colors and will accept my return.

I like Marinco products and if you're going to put on a new coupling you might as well weatherproof it and remember, the collar goes on last. This one comes with a threaded collar instead of the quick connect collar that is shown in the picture. I cut my 50ft. cord in half so I needed the threaded collar anyway but if you need the quick connect you'll need to buy that one separately.

Everything was good, except the threaded ring was not threaded. It had the newer lug system. My old ring was I good shape so I used it.
