J'attends mon aiguise bientôt. Celles que j'ai ne sont pas adéquates pour les graphites. J'utilise un couteau TRÈS aiguisé pour l'instant et ça fonctionne bien. Les crayons sont d'une bonne qualité.

These are the best charcoal pencils I have tried. They work beautifully.

Love these charcoal pencils! They sharpen easily with a small metal hand sharpener, just wish they had come pre-sharpened. They apply nice and smooth on the paper, but they really show beautifully when you blend them. Just a light touch and they turn into black velvet. Yummy! Good price for 12 pencils, and they will last a long time. I bought a box of each, the neutral, soft and extra soft. The extra soft is my favorite. I highly recommend them! Even though I'm waiting for cataract surgery, I had to use them right away. I've added a little sketch made with them, any problems are because of my eyesight, not the pencils.

i just received these and already know i will like them. the charcoal quality is great, they’re easy to sharpen, and were delivered in good condition. these will likely replace my beloved pierre noires in my day to day rotation.these have a consistency that is much closer to the conte pierre noire than a typical charcoal pencil, like the ones from general’s. they have the same waxy, creamy feel as the pierre noires as opposed to being chalky and dusty. i like this quality because it makes it easier for me to control the tone created by the pencil. one issue i have with the pierre noires is how often you run into hard bits that end up scratching your paper. this is a MUCH less common occurrence with the marie’s. they erase about as well as the pierre noires, though not as well as the generals, so for me, they will be used for detail work and darker tones.
