This product was more difficult to use than what was described. Was not effortless to get my pictures installed and shown. Had to have assistance form a techie friend, who stated that there are easier one to use. He is the head of a large firms IT department so I will take his word for it. Had it for a few months before I finally gave up on trying to get it to work and asked for his help.

This is such a nice device to have out, scrolling through your happy memories. It's not particularly hard to setup...but you definitely want to have Wi-Fi available when you're setting it up.I first tried setting it up at our new apartment and I couldn't really get it going because I didn't have our internet setup yet. This isn't really a problem with the device itself....it's supposed to have internet available to set it up. However, it is worth considering if your getting one.HAVE Wi-Fi INTERNET AVAILABLE WHEN SETTING THIS UP!That aside, it's fantastic!

The tablet says to install Biu Frame app and description says to instal Frameo. Biu requires an account, and Frameo doesn't work. I just get an error when I click the add frame button that says "Could not complete the action at this time. Please try again later.". I'm not creating an account for a picture frame to work either. This whole setup is a joke. Bluetooth would have been more than adequate. A picture on my wall does not need to have wifi, internet, and an online account. Frameo is littered with "telemtry" and I don't trust the Biu app as much as I don't trust the meth addict down the street. You can get to bootloader with adb reboot-bootloader, and access the maskrom with rkdeveloptool or rockusb. There are pads on the bottom of the board for like ~4 more buttons. They are probably functional, but no buttons are there. There are also 2 speakers. This does have a human body sensor, it looks to be an IR sensor. I dumped the entire eMMC to my PC (32GB) to check out the software. strings command on the image finds this line{"build_version":"REL","is_rooted":true,"version":"6.0.1"}so I suspect this device is rooted. I couldn't figure out the android version, but I'm sure it doesn't really matter because Rockchip doesn't seem to know what they are doing when building the kernel and drivers for android. Their kernels and android builds are no where near close to the official AOSP.The price of this "tablet" does not reflect the hardware inside. This hardware was bad when it was released, which was a long time ago. This is way too expensive for this junk. It might've been fine if it worked, but they chose to use the most inneffecient broken setup they could possibly think of.Here are the specs of the tablet.CPU - Rockchip RK3126C (Cortex A7 x 4, armv7a)RAM - Samsung K4B2G0446C x 4 (256MB DDR3, 1GB total)WIFI - Rockchip RK915 (802.11b/g/n)STORAGE - Kimtigo KM310MY1032GxA (32GB eMMC 5.1, 3d TLC)DISPLAY - JL-M1010WX92-M4027-001 (1280x800 IPS)KERNEL - Gerrit_RK312x_6.0

I am having a difficult time to give an honest review because I can not get the app to upload the photos to the frame. Out of 20 pictures, two went. Why only two? Who knows.I will keep trying to work with it but I have been trying on and off for two weeks with no change.

This frame works well in slid-show mode, it will play music, video and JPEG's randomly and use a variety of fade methods between showings. I love the motion detection turn on. I love that it does not have one of those crappy dome button remotes we all hate and have a drawer full of. This has touch screen that works well to access menus. One annoying thing is it seems to keep a circle image on the screen and I haven't found a way to turn off the date, time and temperature overlay yet. It does connect to your WiFi so could pose a security risk as it can send/receive files that way. I could not get the 'email to the frame' function to work as that involves a server somewhere in the cloud that isn't working for me? I don't like that anyway. Also do not like loading any more apps on my cell phone to send photos that way. I used a regular old USB 8G stick to transfer files, safe and sound. Great image quality at the 10" size and sound is much better than I thought with tiny holes to emit sound. Well designed and practical!
