The product photo did a decent job showing the pieces. They are made from fairly brittle plastic, however, and the penguin with outstretched wings arrived with one wing broken. The manufacturer is apparently aware of the problem, as that was the only piece that had extra bubble wrap around it.

Very durable and stands up to my toddler tossing them around. Used them for a sensory bin with snow and they work perfect.
