Doesn’t count!!

I got this out of curiosity to be honest. I was disappointed that it doesn't actually count money, only illuminates security features in various currencies. It has a USB connector for power, but no plug for the wall. You also manually switch it on to either the black light function, or the bright light watermark function. I couldn't figure out whether the magnetic ink detector actually works or not.I feel like it would be a better design if it turned on as you place a bill on the unit rather than having to switch off and on manually. It does work for counterfeit detection is my final verdict, but it is not the most convenient of devices. And the lack of the counting function despite the product name is a big fail. Not remotely worth the asking price.

I enjoyed reviewing this Hilitand UV MG WM MGF Bill Money Detector.“UV” - Ultraviolet Light / “MG” - Magnetic Ink Verification / "WM" - Watermark detection / "MGF" - MagnifierIt's really cool to see the bills under Ultra Violet light. The various hidden security features really pop out at you.The bills when backlighted will show watermarks that aren't really evident when viewing without shining a light from behind them. The overhead magnification window allows for better vision of the micro stuff. It is powered with a rechargeable battery connected via USB... 5V 2AI did not have any luck with the Magnetic Ink Verification with this machine. I had to use a magnet to test if that function actually works or not. The red light would come on with the magnet but not with any of the bills I rubbed on top of the detector...one star removed. The biggest error in their description though is that this is a money counter. It is not a counter...another star removed.
