By the picture, the pads look thick. They're actually not very thick at all. I compared these to the Bodyprox knee pads. The Bodyprox is better quality, less expensive, and is very comfortable. Also, the Bodyprox knee pads have thicker pads than Luwint. I'm quite surprised at all the positive reviews. I returned these instantly.

These are really great knee pads. I'm a photographer, who spends a lot of time on her knees, ultimately developing bursitis, when my knee hit a rock. I've bought several other knee pads on this site and these are by far the best. They fit comfortably (don't cut off circulation etc) and the foam is nearly twice as thick as most of the other pads I've tried without being enormous, like the construction ones I tried. (By the way I really loved the gel in the construction knee pads, which were way more comfortable than the foam, but those things were far too big to be practical, whereas I can wear these under my pants.) The foam is starting to compress, after a month of wearing them every night, but they're still doing their job and I will, likely, but another pair (unless I can find a gel version of these),

I bought this product for my husband, who was heading off to tactical training and needed something to protect his knees while he had to slam down on them to shoot his firearm and to practice takedowns. I was surprised when they came and were super puffy in the sense that there's a LOT of semi-hard/semi-squishy foam on them. These are medium to large knee pads and the foam-ish padding sticks out quite a bit. One of the main pros for us is that they can be worn either on top of or underneath pants as long as the pants have a fair amount of knee room. I like that the bands were pretty flexible although the material covering the pads looks like it could tear or rip if something caught on it or protruded up from wherever his knees landed. They would be perfect for volleyball or sports practice and they did work for his tactical training but he had to be very careful not to overbalance as they were so largely padded that they tended to throw him forward when he landed.
