I had never seen one of these before but it is very cool and fun to play with. Perfect desk toy for work.

Ferrofluid seems to be the new craze people are having on their desk. If you own a large desk like I do, you have real estate to add cool little desktop items to your desk.I got the blue color and wish I got the gold color instead. The blue seems to blend in with my backdrop more than I would like, so it just looks like a jar on my desk. You should not leave the magnet in contact with the ferrofluid because it will stain the glass. The magnet is really cool though and allows you to do cool things with the fluid. The price is a little steep for what it is.

The glass bottle feels fairly sturdy. The packaging is very robust, and while it's cardboard, it is white and printed with the product image, so it's giftable. The blue ferro fluid is pretty and fun to play with. The colorant or ferrofluid must have some kind of oil, though, because the air bubble at the top is kind of a brown color. The magnet works pretty well, but ferro fluid tends to separate, like 10% more magnet would probably have kept it all together much nicer. The cap is covered with a silicone cover, and I do agree it's mildly annoying the magnet doesn't sit on the cap nicely for storage. I'd expect a bit more polish out of a higher priced item.

On the phone? Play with it. Sitting through a zoom call? Play with it. Have people wander over to your desk? Play with it. SO cool looking. It feels really expensive even though it's just a grown-up fidget spinner.

I was a fan of the fact it comes with it's own easy to handle magnet. The liquid the ferrofluid is in has a slight yellow tint to it, and it could use a tiny bit more ferrofluid in it, but over all the effect is nice. The magnet is strong enough to attract the ferrofluid easily yet light enough that the ferrofluid will suspend it outside the bottle. It says to store the magnet on top of the bottle when not in use, but the top of the bottle isn't flat, it has a rubber cap with a molding bump on it, so it doesn't sit flat, and if you take the rubber cap off there is nothing to keep the magnet attached to the actual plastic cap under it.My bottle came with some solid residue all over one face, I had to get a plastic scraper and scrape it off (It wouldn't wash off) in order to see through it clearly. The bottle itself is a thick glass however, so unless you drop it or greatly mishandle it, it should last a long time. It's interesting to see how it reacts to magnets at different distances and strengths.Overall I'm happy with it, a few small tweaks and it could be the perfect desktop show piece.
